i can think of a guy beating another guy a few times, then getting knocked cold, but not the other way around!

im sure there are though, from the eras where the guys would fight each other 4, 5, 6 times....

Fights I thought might count but watching them again I see they don't quite: Cornelius Bundrage vs Sechew Powell, and Adonis Stevenson vs Darnell Boone. Both times they were up but staggering.

I figured there'd be something like this in the career of Sam Langford or someone like that and yeah, apparently late in 1908 he knocked out Fireman Jim Flynn in round 1 and "Flynn had to be carried to his corner and was out for 5 minutes.", only to lose a newspaper decision (so does it even count?) to the same man a little over a year later. He also had KO (not TKO) wins against Sam McVea and Harry Wills before losing to both, though I don't yet know the details of those knockouts.

For some reason I have it in my head this kind of thing happened to some semi-hot prospect in the last 15 years, KTFO'd by a fringe contender, labouring to a dull decision in the rematch, but then stuffed and stopped the next time he stepped up and then he disappeared. I fear I might be confusing a few different things there, including Seth Mitchell vs Jonathan Banks, which I checked and Mitchell was up but staggering, again.

Does Joe Louis vs Max Schmeling count? Joe was down for the count and had to be lifted onto his feet, but he clearly wasn't unconscious.

Ya, it's tough to find ones where the dude was actually out cold, for all the kos in boxing, a guy getting totally knocked cold is very rare

I don't recall if it was a 10 count, but Deleon vs Gordon is my first thought.

Curtis Sheppard lost a decision to Joey Maxim, knocked Maxim out in one round, then lost a wide decision to Maxim.

I don’t know if Maxim was out cold, but he was counted out for the only time in his career.
