Abit of Sunday fun, can you recall any fights where the loser actually came out in the public’s eye as the winner or their career benefited from the loss I.e. moved them forward

I’ll start off with a couple:-

Lewis - Vitali - crowd was really pro Vitali at the end

Froch - Groves - Groves felt like the winner even though he lost

On a side note never really happened for Collazo did it against Hatton, many felt Collazo won but it never catapulted him to bigger and better things

countdown till ppl start bitching at each other about lewis-klit for the 10 billonth time ......

bradley-provo, provo got a lot of new fans and got a world title shot straight after ,which he won

1:The fight was a 5 round contest
2:Lewis didn't perform open surgery on his clock
3 Lewis had actually lost
apart from that Klit did win

Eubank's final three losses - springs to mind.

Whilst not about the fight itself - but Tyson's post fight interview vs Lewis brought a lot of praise.

One British fight going way back when - but Louis vs Farr...... Clay vs Cooper...... Ali vs Wepner.

A bit more recent - McAuley vs Bassa.

Villasana vs Hodkinson.

Cotto-Margarito.

Turned him from the Puerto Rican Superstar to the cult hero that Boxing fans Worldwide rooted for.

Ken Buchanan- Everyone says how well he boxed against Duran. It’s potentially his signature fight and the bollox punch is blamed. (Personally I thought Duran battered him, hardly gave him a round)

Rocky one

Strum - De la Hoya, another where the crowd cheered Sturm

Froch-Groves 1 made GG a millionaire and a household name.

Eubank Sr’s last three fights

Billy Conn v The Brown Bomber

Norton-Ali III. Norton won the fight and the crowd knew it.

Barrera vs Morales 1

Most felt that Barrera had won, and over the next few years following that bout Barrera's career definitely moved past Morales' at that time.

Parker against Whyte and McCloskey against Khan, where headbutts swayed opinion towards rematches that never happened.

The inherent contradiction in this statement says it all

Rivas vs Whyte (if he got back in there quick, but he wasted that little bit of momentum)

Plus Any time a no name gets robbed by a big name... but in all of them the critical thing is to not shut your mouth after that, so often people go quite and a year later the result is just remembered via boxrec...

what you need to do is every time the guy that robbed you wins you gotta do 5 interviews calling him a bitch and asking for a rematch, and reminding the world of the fact you should of won that fight.

richard lartey vs dubois

created this bizarre idea that lartey is a some type of dangerman for promising prospects. you had people even picking him to beat gorman, or at minimum to push him hard

the guy hasnt won a round vs anyone with a pulse, dating back to the time he fought some rando turkish prospect and lost every round before quitting at the end of the 5th. maybe the beard hypnotizes people
