Louis was better in many aspects. Overall boxing skills, technique, arsenal, speed, precision.
I see Louis outboxing Lyle clearly and very likely stopping him late.
Lyle was a big puncher, he could knock Louis down, acknowledging Louis' chin issues, or even pull out a KO victory, but more often than not he wouldn't do the least thing.
Louis by KO in about 10 rounds.

I concur with you. Louis was superior in overall skills and gets the win.

Me three and the Brown Bomber would KO Ron Lyle in 14 rounds in a classic, but brutal battle.
