With the news of the super league coming next season in the football and Dazn having the rights, surely this is a strong sign Matchroom will jump from sky as well. Thoughts?

Hearn is on his way to Dazn - That is my guess.

I'm certain Eddie will be leaving. He's committed to going global with Matchroom and he will need a global partner, Sky can't provide that.

AJ's last fight with Sky will be against Fury (1) and no doubt with have the return on DAZN.

What a way to end your contract with Sky though, giving them the biggest fight in British boxing history. Eddie has played it very well.

I used to think there was no way Eddie would put his British boxing stable on to DAZN but I also agree in that now I think it happens.

AJ has a separate contract with Sky (for one more fight) so who knows what’ll happen there.

His May 1st show seems a bit like a cash out similar to what FW did with the 2 magnificent 7 shows before leaving Sky.

I think it’s a big risk for Matchroom. I still don’t think there’s any guarantee that the football super league actually happens (particularly given the reaction to it) and if boxing is the only U.K. subscription driver then it will be tough to make it work and get strongman viewing numbers.

Will guys like Whyte, Katie Taylor, Conor Benn be happy fighting exclusively on DAZN? I’m not so sure.

I saw Kalle was on Sky’s online ringside show last week - he’ll be buddying up with Adam Smith and co already but it’s going to be very difficult for Sky to put on good, frequent shows at present without Matchroom.

The thought of the end of Sky Sports, Adam Smith, and his gang of incompetent yes people makes me quite excited.

Not sure what Eddie will do but his fighters won't have anywhere near the exposure on DAZN as they would on Sky. The casuals would drop off massively as DAZN will only be watched by the hardcore.
Even Eddie's celebrity will diminish if he hides away on DAZN.

Can't remember what they are called, but they claimed to be the worlds biggest sports agency and then tried to emphasise that point by getting some meat head who plays for Wycombe (currently bottom of the championship) to say a couple of words.

All very odd.

In truth, Kalle signing a deal with sky any time soon is highly unlikely as he only has Eubank junior in his UK stable at the minute and he genuinely believes he is a PPV star.

Can DAZN be streamed through a normal TV?

As previously stated, the long game for Matchroom was to go onto a global platform. Bridging between Sky and DAZN was the temporary plan until DAZN became better established.
It makes sense to make the move from Eddie's perspective.
Sky can either flog off boxing all together, or ideally spend a bit of money and televise small hall shows. With good matchmaking those can be more entertaining than the hokey title defences/challenges big players like DAZN will be focusing on.

I'd be very interested to see Eddie without the backing of Sky. People talk about how great of a promoter he is, and what have you, and he is a decent promoter- but I feel like Sky sports doesnt get talked about enough when it comes to their ability to hype fights up.

I honestly feel like the broadcaster is the biggest promoter of the sport in the country, ignoring the likes of Adam Smith and co on the commentary who ruin the actual events themselves a lot of the time.

They're ability to cross promote their boxing content across all their different sports channels and sports coverage is second to none imo.

Up until recently I thought there was no way that Eddie would leave Sky, but It looks like the writing is on the wall and he is off to DAZN. The only question mark I have is whether AJ goes with him and how that all works out with the Fury fight contracts
