John Fury has tipped 21 year old American HW Jared Anderson to take over at HW when Fury retires, thoughts?

i am very high on jah too, there is a lot more talk about him over in the current scene
unlike a lot of recent american hw prospects he has been boxing since he was a tot and looks very natural and relaxed in the ring
top rank has been matching him pretty well for such a young prospect too and are giving him a good push, i think they have confidence in him. albeit the last opponent sucked lol, but prior to that he'd been consistently matched with opponents known to trouble prospects

Just looking at his amateur page on wiki, he came 1st in the US National Championships two years running, I'm not sure what his AM record was but the 23 wins they show he only stopped 3 so his power has obviously improved as a pro. Decent size too, 6'4" and 250lbs, certainly one to watch.

ko's are rare in the ams at national/international level, not sure it's a lack of power. the lack of time, the gloves they use, etc...all make it hard to get a stoppage
if you look at wilders am record, you'll again see he won nearly all his fights by decision. aj too was mostly decisions-only listed with 4 kos in 33 wins

Tommy can take more than the tip.

john furys opinion seems to garner a lot of respect in boxing for some reason.

He’s got a few bang on. The lad has sparred Tyson, I think, as have many other young pros so he’s in a position to rate them. He’s seen a lot of top class heavyweights behind closed doors for years.

John’s reading of a few fights lately, particularly Tyson against Wilder, have been spot on. But he also said the lad Tommy fought last time out was a good fighter and every guy who won against against completely outmatched opponents on a recent BT show would be a future world champ.
I agree with his take on Anderson though - looks a really good fighter.

I can’t remember off the top of my head but he’s picked a few. As for Tyson-Wilder, right from being unhappy with the first fight to been super confident for the rematch, he called it to a tee.

There ain't any, it's just a throw away line from the Fury fanboys.
John talk's more bollocks than anyone in British boxing which is fine, it makes for an entertaining listen now and again, like once or twice a year kinda thing.

I like Tyson, always have but it’s a bit cheeky to call me a fanboy since I was boxing before he was born.

From the bits and pieces I've seen of him, Anderson looks to have a lot of potential. Good footwork, balance, etc. I don't think his KO streak will continue that long when he steps up in class but that's not a criticism.
He's done what a lot of heavyweights seem to do now, which is go up rapidly in weight over the first couple of years as a pro. Hopefully he doesn't put too much on.

He called Joyce/Dubois bang on too.
He does talk a load of rubbish (Seferi’s a tough durable opponent but AJ’s a bum who couldn’t lace Tyson’s boots) but when he’s not talking bluster and hype and breaks a fight down he clearly knows the game inside out.
