Jean Pascal-Badou Jack Rematch, Jarrett Hurd-Luis Arias On Mayweather-Paul Undercard
A light heavyweight championship rematch and the return of a former junior middleweight champion will be part of the Floyd Mayweather-Logan Paul undercard June 6.
Boxing Scene has confirmed that a second bout between Jean Pascal and Badou Jack and another fight that’ll pit Jarrett Hurd against Luis Arias will be among the three fights Showtime Pay-Per-View will televise before Mayweather and Paul meet in an exhibition. Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix first reported the Pascal-Jack and Hurd-Arias fights Tuesday night on Twitter.
Mayweather and Paul officially announced on Instagram on Tuesday night that their exhibition is set for June 6 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Hurd (24-1, 16 KOs) will fight for the first time since he defeated Francisco Santana (25-9-1, 12 KOs) by unanimous decision in their 10-round junior middleweight match 15 months ago at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The 30-year-old Hurd (24-1, 16 KOs), of Accokeek, Maryland, lost the IBF, IBO and WBA 154-pound titles to Philadelphia’s Julian Williams (27-2-1, 16 KOs, 1 NC) in his previous fight, which took place in May 2019 at EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, Virginia.
The 30-year-old Arias (18-2-1, 9 KOs), of Boca Raton, Florida, hasn’t fought since he lost a 10-round decision to Ireland’s Luke Keeler (17-3-1, 5 KOs) in August 2019 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Keeler knocked Arias to the canvas twice in that fight, once apiece in the first and ninth rounds.
