The story was he was attacked in the street, his eye was injured and he had to pull out the Liam Williams fight. The attack happened in November 2016 and he hasn't boxed since however Patterson was interviewed in 2017 saying he was working as a personal trainer but back in training and wanted to fight again soon. So why no more fights?

Wasn't he supposed to fight Glenn Foot (who I also think was another who could have gone onto better things than he did) at one point too?

They were due to fight in March 2015 but Patterson pulled out with a viral infection before their weigh-in.

Just answered my own question, found a youtube video Patterson done in 2019 with his other half and he says he's a full time personal trainer and stopped boxing due to an eye injury.

Good boxer. Not sure I'd have given him much chance against Williams, but he was a very useful operator.
