Million Dollar Tournament: (Started Week 17)

Post by Crease »

The Million Dollar Tournament (MDT) is a seasonal event in the BoxRecSim, it only comes around once-a-year and it is a HOF recognized event.

The MDT was first devised by the now-legendary PIITB Promotions, where the inventor, a former Sim Brother of ours known as "DetroitHxC" created this seven-week boxing tournament in order to find out who had the stamina for such a marathon.

The MDT is an open tournament of 32 male fighters in which ANYONE can enter - and if they do so, they will bring their titles along their MDT journey with them. During the MDT series, all Title rules and regulations are relaxed in order to help the tourney run it's natural course.

The structure of the tournament is - a group stage (8 groups of 4 fighters) with the top 2 progressing through to the second round (the last 16) and from there becomes a straight knockout competition, essentially a situation of:
you win & you're through..... you lose & you're out..... Any draws will be replayed to find a winner that same week.

All Managers should note that upon application of the tournament, they will then by legally required to see through this obligation, there can be no withdrawals, EVER!
Though if a Manager does enter, his fighters will not be able to fight each other. Also, World Champions would not be able to meet each until the Semi Finals. So, the stakes get ever higher as the tournament progresses.

MDT success is rated as a high honor in Simland, the winning Manager will be financially reimbursed with $1 million simdollars. Along with that, the triumphant boxer will be remembered in the MDT Roll of Honor which can be found in the HOF.
And lastly, the victor will be awarded a guaranteed place in the end-of-season Super Six - the most highly exclusive club in all of Simland featuring the best of the best. You won't get this ticket anywhere else.

So, have you ever wondered what a Million dollars looks like?

One fighter this season will find out... And gain the ownership of the Million Dollar belt (which cost a £1 million / $1 million )

I am adding some new rules here.

As crease said....ANYONE MAY ENTER....and NO ONE MAY LEAVE EARLY.

AND.

1. Champions have a choice. You may enter putting your title on the line OR participate in this event as "non title fights".

2.IF you bring your title in....it follows the winner of the various matches right on through to the end.

3. If you do not bring your title in...it will be waiting for you at the other end....and you will be considered flawed and useless by your peers.

4.If you do not bring your title....you will not inherit any other title you MIGHT have earned had you chosen a good and proper path.

This is done to allow for a great deal of freedom, and a great deal of honor for some, and a chance to be the object of ridicule for some as well.

That is all.

Arguello is in.....IF he is champ by then...will he bringing his WBC belt with him? Or is he just pretending to be great?

It's already confirmed, that he'll enter the tournament beltless, just to show some final mercy for all current fleeting "champions" before overwhelming them all.

Sanchez and McGovern are in.

If Terry wins his world title fight he'll bring the belt with him into the tournament.

If Sanchez keeps the IBO, he'll leave the decision up to the governing body whether he takes it into the tournament or not. Personally I can see the value in a secondary title for MDT non-participants to fight over while the world titles are tied up, but if the commission wants us to take their belt into the tournament, we will gladly do so.

IBO have made a ruling that all normal rules are dropped for the MDT and the IBO belt is in.

ALSO - Each fighter will earn an additional 1 pt on the scoreboard for each week that they are involved in the MDT - regardless of result.

Nineteen out of the twenty Managed fighters have been bold enough to enter. You gotta admire the competitive nature of that, I salute you, gentlemen.
:salut:

ALSO - Each fighter will earn an additional 1 pt on the scoreboard for each week that they are involved in the MDT - regardless of result.
Those who hold major belts must announce their intention BEFORE going into the MDT as to whether they will be involved in title fights or if their entire performance will be non title events. I will ASSUME the titles ARE ON THE LINE...unless you announce your intention to set the title aside for the entire tourney. It's up to you.....and if you don't read this, and you don't respond as requested...the title is in the mix.

Except for the IBO.....they have a corrupt agenda, and operate on the black market. And thus far our security forces have been unable to ascertain their operational headquarters.....though it is rumored to be an island somewhere of the coast of Australia.

They will have their own set of expectations.....be sure to read the fine print if you believe you OWN the IBO belt....because it may well be that they OWN YOU!!

I intend to put either both, or neither of my fighters belts on the line.
