15 Round fights being introduced on a limited basis for event #17 and beyond. Also an IBO rep must make a decision.

For the WBC, WBO, and IBF title fights taking place within the MDT.....
When one of these titles is being contested within the MDT.....it will be for 15 rounds.
Yes....15 rounders are considered cruel and unusual by most civil standards.....and that's why they are limited to sim combatants only.
The WBA does not currently condone such barbaric events. But it's board is gathering in Tahiti to discuss future post MDT options, and are keeping an open mind.
May we assume that the IBO will agree with the 15 round option in the case of MDT unification bouts? If not we will hear arguments for and against this idea. And reserve the right to the final decision. Perhaps the IBO will attempt to make the case for 3 or 4 rounds for their belts.
We will wait to hear back from their rep.
