Taylor for me,he has beaten a very good run of unbeaten fighters over a longer period, anyone know why he is suspended indefinitely by the nevada state ?

Taylor is much more deverse and he wouldn't be frustrated by Hatton's inside bullyng. Taylor would be able to outbox Hatton from the range and nail him inside with uppercuts. I see it as a confident win for Josh.

Prime Hatton was just so quick of hand and on his feet, with a phenomenal work rate and engine, not to mention real boxing skills of his own. It would have been close and a war. For me the razor sharp Hatton that fought Ray Oliveira would have just about outlasted a guy like Taylor who is a strong all-rounder but doesn’t possess the boxing skill of Floyd nor the juiced up power of 2009 Pac (and Hatton was done by then anyway).

Hatton would have had too much pace for Taylor... Taylor wouldn't have been able to take rounds off and coast against a prime Hatton.

Hatton was a proper 12 round fighter.

Yep - agree on all the above points regarding Hatton. It seems his boxing skills are very underrated.

Hatton fought and beat some guys who's worth we knew - and of course he lost against some of them too.

At the moment Taylor hasn't met those types of opponents, so we just don't know. Although - who is to say he won't go into to show us in the future.

Cracking watch this would be, I'd lean towards prime Hatton via close decision.

Hatton never looked good against southpaws- rocked by Magee, major struggle with Collazo and didn't exactly look great against the incredibly limited Urango.

Agreed, anytime Hatton fought someone near Taylor’s class he really struggled.

Taylor by UD.

Taylor's frame and style would cause him plenty of problems IMO, similar to how Collazo did, but more pop and sharpness to his punching than Collazo IMO.

I actually think Taylor could stop Hatton but I’m certain of a UD. Hatton was ‘marauding’ against B/C level opponents. Never against world class aside from his win over Tzsyu.

Cp is right. Hatton hated southpaws. It got to the stage Billy Graham wouldn't have one.

Hattons non stop intensity would keep Taylor fighting at a pace he has shown he can't keep up for 12 rounds , Hatton body shot stops him late

I wish I could change my vote having now read this and recalled the unspectacular Collazo catching Hatton with the right hook so much it was like he had a magnet in his glove. Still, with Taylor's workrate in the later rounds, you have to give Hatton some chance of outworking him over 12.

Hatton also gassed late against Collazo and wasn't very active late on against Urango...... :TU:

He did indeed. In my view that was because a) both were somewhat bigger and stronger than Hatton or Taylor (how Urango ever made 140 is beyond me) and b) both fights were past Hatton's (very short) peak when the years of taking the piss between fights caught up with him. By comparison, Hatton was relentless against Tszyu to the very end. But I take your point, it can't be
guaranteed that Hatton would be a long way ahead workrate-wise.

Talk about the home town robberies we have here, worked the opposite way there because there was no way Hatton won that fight

I haven’t made a choice. Because it’s a difficult one. And Taylor’s career is incomplete so we don’t know his limitations or ultimate abilities. Great fight though.

I'm thinking their mythical contest would be at light welterweight. The Collazo fight was at Welterweight where I think Hatton wasn't as fast or sharp, despite his quick start and flooring Collazo.

Aye and Collazo was a big welterweight too.

Taylor would still have the advantage in frame size which Collazo seemed to use to his advantage to land the right hook with frequency against Hatton
