bit bizarre steve grey today, corner throwsi n towel for ritson when he gets dropped, grey ignores it and ritson gets dropped again, grey still refuses to stop it, and ritson gets dropped for a third time. this was after getting his butt handed to him for most of the prior 9 rounds. he was obviously on the way out

needlessly putting him at risk there. ppl bring up mickey vann, but (1) that almost never plays out like that, and (2) remember earl still got stopped

what late stoppages ,do you recall, in other words the ref stops it after they should've , or doesnt stop it at all

Think there have been a couple of fights the fighter on the attack have been looking at the ref to say step in and stop the fight, don’t ask me which fighters were involved though

Froch v Porras and (probably a bit cheeky of him) Calzaghe v Mitchell

Macca Frenkel is one of the worst I’ve seen ringside. Anyone with a pair of eyes could see he was completely gone and had nothing.

Whittaker Hurtado was an awful stoppage. He probably took 20 punches he didn’t need to.

There’s one I forgot the name of. Easily the worst stoppage (or lack of) in over 40 years of me watching boxing. The guy is reeling and stumbling all over and eating Huge shots. Absolutely terrible stoppage. It’s two Americans (one may be African) and they’re either heavies or cruisers and it looks like it’s in a leisure centre with a big banner in the background. If you’ve seen it you’ll know the one.

Alex Garcia vs Benton. Absolutely terrible reffing. The ref has the temerity to count him out too.

Gutnecht vs Groves. That fight should have been stopped around round 10. It was horrible to watch those last few rounds.

Calzaghe - Lacey was great for a Calzaghe fan... For the first half of the fight. It was hard to watch after round 8 or so. Absolute massacre.

Cleverly v Kovalev. I'm sure the ref waved it off then the bell sounded to end the round so he reversed his decision and sent Clev back to his stool

The ref in the Duran-Lou Bizzarro 15-rounder does his best to try and get Bizzarro killed. Another ref tries to get Eddie Machen killed against Ingemar Johannson.

Enzo Mac vs Frenkle is the one one that always comes to mind. Didn't seem like the ref took a close enough look at him after the first, very heavy KD and he ended up with a horrific KO.

Edit: just seen Orb already mentioned it.

The clip Coco has posted never gets any less shocking to watch :oo

Morrison's collapse was the very definition of a stricken fighter :stop:

Prior to the shocking finish, Tommy had peeled off some of the best combinations I've seen from a heavyweight :salut:

Ruby Goldstein got Benny Paret killed by Emile Griffith killed because of terrible refereeing

Johansson vs Machen is probably the worst i can think of

Morrison, Cooney and Gatti all had that same kind of loose left hook, thrown from quite low, that was absolutely deadly.

He took a pasting in the first fight too yeah, I just thought the 2nd one was even worse in terms of leaving him in there, especially after the way their previous encounter unfolded.

Khan/Prescott absolutely horrendous my O’Conner. Could’ve killed Khan!
Helping him up to take more massive hooks. 😬
