Mercado has the best win among the two, over Shavers, but he didn't do a lot apart from it.
Stewart was constantly facing top guys, always losing, but often giving them hard fights. He arguably won Foreman. Apart from it, he gave tough fights to Holyfield and Moorer.
Stewart seemed tougher than Mercado, I'd pick Alex by late KO.

Mercado stops Stewart mid rounds
