Apart from a very brief blip (i.e. several months between the Povetkin defeat and victory), Dillian Whyte has been the WBC’s highest-rated heavyweight contender since November 2017.

And now that the Fury-Wilder rematch has been postponed until October, it seems inevitable that Dillian Whyte will soon be “celebrating” his four-year wait for his long-overdue WBC title shot.

To make matters worse, Mauricio Sulaiman confirmed yesterday that the eventual winner of Fury-Wilder III won’t have to perform a mandatory defence of their WBC title, meaning that ‘The Body Snatcher’ doesn’t even possess mandatory challenger status., despite holding the Interim title.

Assuming Tyson Fury beats Wilder and then faces Anthony Joshua twice during 2022, then it’s extremely likely that Dillian Whyte won’t receive his title shot until 2023.

It’s not as if Dillian Whyte can gain a title shot via one of the other governing bodies either, because AJ’s committed to facing Oleksandr Usyk next, closely following by two bouts against Tyson Fury.

Where does Dillian Whyte go from here?

Dillian Whyte has recently won the 40 year old post-covid competitor, after being iced by the same guy, while he was covid-free. He could look like a top challenger a couple of years ago, he don't look like that today.

Now the championship must be determined in the painful soap opera featuring Fury, Wilder, Joshua and Usyk. Maybe we should give some belt to Covid, as he already got a couple of p4p fighters, doesn't this sound impressive? Whyte isn't close to that!

Whyte should fight the likes of Ruiz, Ortiz, Joyce, Yoka, Hrgovich, Hunter, etc.

If I was Hearn I'd arrange AJ Vs Whyte 2 for the Undisputed Championship should AJ beat Usyk as Whyte has the Interim WBC belt. It would be a farce in terms of promotion but it would piss off the right people(Frank, Fury, Wilder, Sulaiman) as a Matchroom Heavyweight would end up with all four belts around their waist so it would be easier to sell Fury/Wilder as the challenger. It would sell, Whyte gets his shot and gets paid well for it. I think due to styles he has a better chance at beating the other two than AJ though.

With this delay fair chance WBC will make fury franchise and dillian email champ. whyte has been fucked (whoever leaked that drug test shit realllly fucked him although i dont mind it really because generally no smoke without fire...)but that was forgiven, so They cant keep whyte waiting with no path to the WBC on the horrizon after this long being there top contender....

If wilder wins , he never gives Whyte any payday.
If Fury wins, he will take a keep busy fight and wait for joshua fight. and then Joshua rematch.

Around the same timeframe, Dillian Whyte also rejected the opportunity to compete in an IBF final eliminator, against Kubrat Pulev, because he was only receiving a 25% purse split to compete on the Bulgarian’s home turf, which equated to a paltry $375K (as per the purse bid won by Epic Sports & Entertainment). The Bulgarian was being paid three times more than the Brit’s sum.

Kubrat Pulev ended up facing Hughie Fury in the IBF’s final eliminator, whereas Dillian Whyte fought Joseph Parker instead, with both the Brit & the Kiwi pocketing slightly more than $1.3m each.

Poor Dillian. I honestly couldn't care less. Fellow can either have some good interesting fights or not, won't get any sympathy from me.

Interim belts can't be unified with main ones. Lol, that's where they draw the line.
