Ever heard of Robert Lee?H8Usernames wrote: ↑21 Jul 2021, 16:33 Wba wbo wbc ibf ibo ring boxrec #1 lineal champion, all of these are pretty meaningless. These abcs are so pathetic.
wbc successive sr and jr presidents.
wba successive sr and jr presidents.
wbo is an offshoot from the wba that has however not yet gone the jr sr route but has had the same career man president since 1996.
Ibf another offshoot from the wba did a bit of the jr and sr thing with Robert W Lee and Robert Lee jr before going into their bribery scandal. Since then they have gone through 3 presidents with the latest being elected in 2018 on a non jr sr basis. Here we are talking about a US based organization that falls under federal oversight and doesn't do the jr sr family business thing.
In my opinion the way to rank these orgs according to credibility is:
IBF
and far behind it
WBO
and the other two simply do not matter.

You are a moron. Probably Mauricio Sulaiman jr himselfs. Some idiot that believes that he is enlightened and special. You are not and never will be sorry. Atleast those wba idiots have brain enough to keep their heads hidden in the sand not requiring the acceptance and admiration of others, only their cash.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑21 Jul 2021, 16:55OK, missed that name.H8Usernames wrote: ↑21 Jul 2021, 16:47You claim to be enlightened. So in addition to Don King and Top Rank bribing the IBF, as well as rigged rankings…
Tyson Fury-IBF title-Charles Martin?
Marvin Hagler, Winky Wright, Jermain Taylor and O’Neil Bell?
Roy Jones Jnr and Richard Hall?
Amir Khan and Lamont Peterson?
Azinga Fuzile and Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov?
IBF’s stance on drugs?
IBF’s ratings?
Fɍȁnk Wȁɍɍȅn and Bob Arum have had a long established partnership for several years, especially in regards to providing boxing content for ESPN.candyslim wrote: ↑22 Jul 2021, 04:03 His title shot is a long way off, mandatory or otherwise. Being mandatory is no bad thing provided Joe doesn't sit on his arse and wait for his turn.
Joe needs to follow Dillian Whyte's example and take on all comers. That way if he is well past his prime by the time his chance arrives and in no condition to win the title, at least he can say he made the best of his pro career, beat some quality opponents, and ended up with a nice retirement fund.
Of course that's easier said than done. There is no danger of getting trampled by a stampede of heavyweights rushing to pit themselves against the Juggernaut.
That's been a problem throughout boxing history - good challengers withering on the vine while awaiting their title opportunity. We all want one champion in each division but the fewer the belt-holders, the worse that problem becomes.
Joe’s a while away from fighting on PPV. He’s not a big name or ticket seller in the U.K. yet. On the most official broadcasting figures in the U.K. (BARB) his fight pre Dubois was watched by 20,000 people.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑22 Jul 2021, 14:31Fɍȁnk Wȁɍɍȅn and Bob Arum have had a long established partnership for several years, especially in regards to providing boxing content for ESPN.candyslim wrote: ↑22 Jul 2021, 04:03 His title shot is a long way off, mandatory or otherwise. Top Rank have only just taken Matchroom’s place as being Sky Sports’ primary boxing content provider.
And Queensberry Promotions is the primary boxing content provider for BT Sports.
Therefore, we’re more likely to see fighters from Sky and BT facing each other.
Joe Joyce is aligned with Queensberry Promotions and his most recent performance was against fellow stablemate, Daniel Dubois, with his next outing against Carlos Takam, with the Frenchman aligned with Top Rank.
Sky Sports have recently published articles promoting the idea of another Frenchman, Tony Yoka, facing Joe Joyce in the near future, with the former Olympic and World amateur champion aligned with Top Rank.
Other heavyweights aligned with Top Rank, include the likes of: Agit Kabayel, Kubrat Pulev, Jared Anderson, Oscar Rivas, Efe Ajagba and, of course, Tyson Fury.
Fṛḁṅk Wḁṛṛḛn’s stable of heavyweights include the likes of Daniel Dubois, Joe Joyce, Nathan Gorman, Jonathan Palata and David Adeleye.
So there is a distinct possibility that we’ll see Joe Joyce headlining UK PPV’s in the near future against some of the aforementioned names, whilst he’s biding his time waiting for his title shot (following the same route as fellow Brit, Dillian Whyte).
Of course, Joyce’s relationship (direct or otherwise) with Queensberry Promotions and Top Rank, will mean it’ll inevitably be much more challenging orchestrating bouts against fighters aligned with the PBC or DAZN.
Agreed, but if Joyce starts being aggressively pushed by Sky Sports on a 24/7 basis, due to him facing Top Rank's biggest names, he'll very quickly gain exposure.maverick23 wrote: ↑22 Jul 2021, 15:13Joe’s a while away from fighting on PPV. I’m not sure that you fully grasp the TV landscape in the U.K. but FWarren isn’t going to let one of his biggest fighters fight on a rival network.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑23 Jul 2021, 00:53Agreed, but if Joyce starts being aggressively pushed by Sky Sports on a 24/7 basis, due to him facing Top Rank's biggest names, he'll very quickly gain exposure.maverick23 wrote: ↑22 Jul 2021, 15:13Joe’s a while away from fighting on PPV. Even though Joyce is a BT/Queensberry fighter, the rest of his fellow heavyweight stablemates are merely domestic level. He needs to start facing world-rated opposition. And appearing on Top Rank's fight cards on Sky Sports is the easiest route for him to take in order to start doing that.
I was about to say I totally agree with your reasoning and would do the same myself, but then $ 12.99 for boxing PPV on your side of the pond is cheap as chips isn't it? It would almost be rude not to.The Asleep Lamps wrote: ↑22 Jul 2021, 19:45 Americans can watch Joyce vs Takam for $12.99 on FITE.tv.![]()

The undercard features Ekow Essuman, the 6th ranked welterweight in the UK, and Hamzah Sheeraz the 6th ranked jr middleweight in the UK (in separate bouts). Takam is a journeyman though. Not a lot of money but I can put it towards my DAZN subscription as I still don't have DAZNcandyslim wrote: ↑23 Jul 2021, 04:03I was about to say I totally agree with your reasoning and would do the same myself, but then $ 12.99 for boxing PPV on your side of the pond is cheap as chips isn't it? I guess it depends whether that includes any other decent fights on the bill.
I get what you’re saying and I already made it clear that Joyce was a BT fighter, but Bob Arum was interviewed within the last month by Sky Sports, claiming that he’s trying to make the fight between Yoka and Joyce. And I’m assuming the highest bidding network will end up covering it.maverick23 wrote: ↑23 Jul 2021, 02:04I’m not sure that you fully grasp the TV landscape in the U.K. but FWarren isn’t going to let one of his biggest fighters fight on a rival network.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑23 Jul 2021, 00:53Agreed, but if Joyce starts being aggressively pushed by Sky Sports on a 24/7 basis, due to him facing Top Rank's biggest names, he'll very quickly gain exposure.maverick23 wrote: ↑22 Jul 2021, 15:13

He will continue to tread water on BT with them getting decent overseas opposition or they’ll try and entice someone like Derek Chisora to fight him.
Before Bob was actively pursuing a deal with Sky Sports ESPN were picking up most of FW’s shows and FW was promoting Bob’s U.K. based fighters on his shows (like the Thai vs Taylor last summer).Enlightened-One wrote: ↑23 Jul 2021, 08:45I get what you’re saying and I already made it clear that Joyce was a BT fighter, but Bob Arum was interviewed within the last month by Sky Sports, claiming that he’s trying to make the fight between Yoka and Joyce. Any rivalry between Fɍȁnk Wȁɍɍȅn and Bob Arum won't remotely resemble Fɍȁnk Wȁɍɍȅn's frosty relationship with Eddie Hearn.
The TV landscape in the UK will inevitably change due to Sky’s new ties with Top Rank.
Cross-promotional bouts involving Top Rank and Queensberry Promotions will be far easier to make than both companies working with promoters aligned with DAZN or Fox/Showtime.
Top Rank has a plethora of world-rated heavyweights at their disposal for Joe Joyce to face, whereas Queensberry promotions doesn’t have any. And it's Fɍȁnk Wȁɍɍȅn's job to promote the Juggernaut's bouts.
Let's assume that Bob Arum's ambition to imminently stage the Joyce-Yoka fight (immediately after the Takam bout) comes to fruition, it’ll be the fifth consecutive fight of Joe’s that Top Rank has been involved in (i.e. either via broadcast deals through ESPN or providing opposition).
Anyway, regardless as to whether some of Joe Joyce’s fights in the UK are covered by BT or Sky, I strongly suspect that Fɍȁnk Wȁɍɍȅn will work with Bob Arum to provide opponents for the Juggernaut to face.
