Which fighter employs the Hollywood punch the best?

Boxercise Bellend Ben Davison opened my eyes last night to a previously unknown boxing punch to me…. The ‘Hollywood Punch’….

Firstly what is a Hollywood punch? I assume it means a devastating power shot that puts a man over and maybe out. Obviously myself, as well as most Boxrec posters do not have the same analytical expertise as guru Ben, but that is my assumption.

Secondly what are recent examples of a successful Hollywood punch?

Povetkin-Whyte 1 has that motion industry feel to it especially after the knockdowns….

Funnily enough Jake Paul has pulled out a Hollywood punch in his last two fights….

What do you guys think? What other examples of a Hollywood punch are available? Castro-John David Jackson?

OMG don't you know what the Hollywood punch is?

You must be ashamed to post on a boxing website?

I bet you have never eaten in Fosters Hollywood or watched a Rocky movie.

I prefer the Sam Maxwell shot where he does a bolo on the bag, hits himself with the follow through and goes down. Also gave himself a black eye! Only in Hollywood….

Billy Walker made a fortune from one Hollywood punch. He flattened a giant American by the name of Cornelius Perry in an amateur international at Wembley back in 1961 (Britain won 10-0.) Heavyweight Billy turned pro and proved a massive draw, selling out Wembley Arena over and over again. He never won a title but featured in some thrilling encounters.

Amateurs should not be getting donkey punched, the refs/trainers need to stop this now before it really catches on.

Just another example of how the amateurs are desperately short of resources. No competent referee should find himself unable to prevent a donkey punch.

I rember seeing it used in the ABAs once..... TBH its always looked a bit crap to me. The feet are off the ground aren't they? So a lot of power is lost

Does anyone else remember how Carl Froch would use the corkcscrew uppercut every fight and quite literally it never ever worked.

yes and then every fight at least some ppl would predict that he'd win by brutal uppercut ko, but it never happened at least once he started fighting world level
