Charlo:"If Caleb Plant don’t get that Canelo fight, then I’m going to fight Caleb Plant,”

Is Charlo talking like a mad troll? lol

“I’m working out every day,” said an overweight-looking Jermall Charlo on social media. “I can’t wait to get the biggest fight ever,” said Jermall

“I’m living my dream. I broke my hand in the third round. I didn’t tell y’all s***. I’m not going to complain. I’m just going to stay in the paint. I stayed in the paint with him [Juan Macias Montiel]. yup , broken hand...

“If Caleb Plant don’t get that Canelo fight, then I’m going to fight Caleb Plant,” said Jermall. “When I beat Caleb Plant, I’m going to fight Canelo. ??

“I’m fighting Canelo in September, so shut the f*** up. In September, Jermall Charlo and Canelo. I’m back in September or November.
??? lol

“I really want to know how many people realized I broke my right hand. I got this s*** off now. ok,

I don't know if Canelo vs Plant is a done deal but that sneaky feeling of Charlo fighting Plant for his ibf strap is coming back again. :OhYes:

Caleb Plant isn't facing Jermall Charlo anytime soon.

From ESPN, Mike Coppinger:

"Canelo Alvarez-Caleb Plant boxing fight talks broken off, sources say"

"Boxing's top star was on the verge of a deal to meet Caleb Plant on Sept. 18 in Las Vegas -- a PBC on Fox pay-per-view -- a pact that was in the works for weeks, but at the eleventh hour, talks have broken off over disagreements in the contract, multiple sources tell ESPN. The contract was passed back and forth between Canelo's team and Al Haymon's team over the weekend, sources said, and after multiple edits requests, the deal collapsed over the stalemate.

Talks could be revisited, sources said, but time is running out if Canelo plans to fight on Mexican Independence Day Weekend as he traditionally does. If he moves on from a fight with Plant, who holds the only super middleweight title not in Alvarez's possession, another option is a return to 175 pounds for a title tilt with Russia's Dmitry Bivol, sources said
."

As I said before we could see Charlo vs Plant for that ibf strap! If Charlo wins it then we'd have even a bigger fight. It makes more $ense.

Charlitos are PBC's darlings. :OhYes:

Yup, tbh I'd like to see Canelo taking Beterbiev or Bivol next meanwhile Charlo would fight Plant and in December 2021/May 2022 we could have a bigger unification fight/ or not. :box:

I like any combination of Charlo, Plant, and Benavidez and Canelo to face the winner of that fight. It would be bigger.
If Canelo's fight lands on DAZN then I'm going to order it, and Joshua's defense. :box:

It's a good combo too but Benavidez has no belt atm. Bivol and Beterbiev have belts and are more proven and much stronger fighters.

Beterbiev is the man at 175 and he has 2 major titles but also he's an old fighter. Bivol is young and he has 1 major title.

I think Bivol would be a harder fight for Canelo than Beterbiev but Beterbiev is the man at 175 on paper.

Tbh the boxing public doesn't know the REAL inside stuff of both teams. I wonder if somehow pbc want to 'push' Charlo as an alternative opponent for Canelo, now that the negotiation to fight Plant have apparently "failed"? It may be a smart strategy/ploy. I wouldn't mind to see Canelo vs Charlo @ 168 in September. :box:

So people seriously believe Caleb Plant is going to perform a high-risk VOLUNTARY defence of his IBF super-middleweight championship, against the WBC middleweight champion, for a fraction of the sums he could earn fighting Canelo?

Even if the September fight-date against Canelo falls through, Caleb Plant will inevitably remain hopeful of another date being agreed in the near future, which means his team will force him to walk the safest possible path.

Bivol would have more to give over 12 rounds, just in work rate, as you said, Beterbiev has a greater depth of experience, and I expect both can go the distance with Canelo - although I have been vastlywrong about who goes the distance with Canelo and who doesn't

Not exactly. I guess the 'ploy' is to offer Charlo to Canelo for September as alternative for a good fight and then Caleb in December. Somehow pbc would want to 'bait' Canelo with that ibf desired-last piece strap to first put their fighters like Charlo, maybe Benavidez(that don't have a belt at 168) to have a chance to fight Canelo. And then they would agree to Canelo's terms and give Plant to him. Of course that Canelo could say "fuk that' and fight Bivol / Beterbiev or maybe the best ranked ibf smw guy to become Plant's mandatory challenger, then go to purse bid.

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn also confirmed the news on the DAZN Boxing Show. “[PBC] would prefer to do a three-fight deal, obviously, with Canelo Alvarez,” he stated. “This is their opportunity to try and allure him to the network."

PBC couldn't do that and now they gamble that ibf -bargain chip as smart as they can. Just strictly business.

I honestly believe that Jermall Charlo, Caleb Plant and David Benavidez will kept away from each other to prevent scuppering their hopes of landing the Canelo lottery-winning mega-payday.

If Showtime or Fox feel they can persuade Canelo to sign a multi-fight contract with them (similar terms of the deal Stephen Espinoza got Floyd Mayweather Jr. to sign), then the Mexican will need opponents to face.

Even if Canelo continues to refrain from signing a multi-fight deal with the PBC, Jermall Charlo, Caleb Plant and David Benavidez won't fight each other anyway, because none of them will be willing to risk losing that massive payday.

Maybe. But that's why they'd try this move. They know that Alvarez is his own boss and I guess they would want to lure him with other option fights first (Charlo and probably Benavidez), before he'd unify with Plant. They'd use that ibf strap as a bait.

But I'm sure that Canelo and his team are smart enough to understand all these ploys. Canelo has options. Beterbiev, Bivol, Smith, maybe Andrade or fight the best ranked ibf smw challenger to become the mandatory for the ibf belt. Canelo has options.

Canelo calls the shots, just FYI, a champion from another org can never be a mandatory

No doubt that Canelo has earned the right to call the shots but I guess that legally Canelo could just pick the best ranked ibf 168 fighter and fight him to get in position as mandatory challenger for Plant. It's just an opinion.

Anyway , maybe Canelo vs Plant will get made BUT Canelo vs Bivol sounds much better. :OhYes: :box:

I'm just asking. If Canelo would choose to fight Evgeny Shvedenko who is the best ranked ibf smw (and beat him), could ibf put Canelo as the mandatory for Plant? I guess that ibf would gladly want to have Canelo in their rankings and as their possible champion.

Anyway, from what I've seen most people are not so excited about this fight and they would like to see Canelo fighting Bivol or Beterbiev.
