6ft7 southpaw, moves fast for a big guy, kinda looks like a skinnier Klitschko in attack mode, but without the hugging. Joe Joyce beat him 7 years ago in the amateurs.

Anyone think he can trouble the pro's in a couple of years?

He's definitely good.

He progressed since his loss to Joyce. If I recall correctly, he has defeated 4 fighters, who already passed the 1/8 with him, while he knocked out two of them, Veriasov and Torres. He will win Gold most likely.

He has size, skills and power. His current pro career is only at its start, but he is to become a top fighter of the division. It's tough to predict, if he becomes a champ, as the landscape can change significantly, but he looks like a one, who can shake the division.

Seven years ago he was 20 years old boy and Joyce was 28, near a full grown man. And today he is defiantly taller and heavier than 6'7" he was. He needs to come under Bob Arum or even better Snake Eddie Hearn Stable

yes he's good, 6' 7with power and good skills that use his height well, he just needs to get a move on things after the games and fight much better pro opposition than he has

He might not become a pro world champion, as he's kind of old for what he's accomplished. But I think he might get the Olympic gold this year.
Edit: oh, he also won gold in the 2019 AIBA championships. His margins of victory were 5-0, KO, 5-0, 5-0.

Other than Jalolov, the best competitors in the 2020 Olympics who are recurring competitors from 2019 AIBA are Frazer Clarke (lost 2-3 in the quarter-finals, but he also beat Mourad Aliev 4-1), Ricard Torres (beat Satish Kumar 5-0), and Kamshybek Kunkabayev (lost in the finals 0-5 to Jalolov). So we're probably going to see Jalolov, Clarke, Torrez, and Kunkabayev reach the semi-finals; Jalolov and Kunkabayev reach the finals; and Jalolov win the gold. Not sure who to pick in the bronze medal playoff between Torrez and Clarke, but Clarke might be dealing with a concussion after he fights Jalolov.

In amateur competition, Jalolov is undefeated in his last 37 amateur fights, and 47-1 in his last 48 fights, with that one loss being avenged 3 times.

Btw, another crazy thing about his record is that, since he turned pro, he's had 30 more amateur fights. So, pretty inactive as a pro, but he was simultaneously staying pretty busy on the amateur circuit, fighting various world class amateurs like Mahammad Abdullayev, Kamshybek Kunkabayev (x3), Ivan Veryasov, Tsotne Rogava (x2), Mourad Aliev, Justis Huni, Satish Kumar (x2), Maxim Babanin, Richard Torrez, and Yoandry Toirac.

if he had managment/promoter that supported an ambitious schedule, factoring his huge am career, while still 28 he coud've fought the likes of hammer or kuzmin and another good gatekeeper type. at 30 he could have beaten contenders and be nearing a shot. he's young enough still to still have good pro potential if moved the right way

but his 8 pro fights were all pretty weak. maybe that was by design while he continued his amateur run....hopefully his pro career takes off fast after the games

he needs to link up with a serious promoter who can get him opportunities

My hope is that he's planning to sell himself as an Olympic gold medalist, and with 8 pro fights already under his belt he'd be able to start taking on some fairly decent names shortly after winning the medal rather than having to start from 0-0 and taking a few years beating scrubs. That might be a bit hopeful though. Would like to see one of the main promoters work with him though to create more opportunities.

Jalolov very impressive. Tall, 6FT 7, light on his feet and can punch. Probably future heavyweight champ. 27 good age too

I think he is great.
27/28 doesn't sound old at all for a HW.
Thing is, look how long it has taken Joe Joyce and he doesn't even have a title shot on the horizon yet.
So yes I believe he could be agood pro, any title legacy would be a short one on the face of HW pro boxing today.

ya great length, mobile, can punch.....he just turned 27 and with an 8-0 pro background already, he should be young enough to make a good pro run...not like it's mamidov having his first pro fight at 34. after the games jalo's probably done with the ams.........get him on the fast track and with a few solid wins he can be a 15-0 contender by 29-30, still with some good years left. basically, they just need to match him like every fight is important and he should be fine.

the title picture goes through different phases with how clogged up it is. hopefully in a few years the fury-wilder love affair will have stopped and freed up title shots for other guys, etc

who knows, with how the abc rankings go these days, even with his 8-0 pro record over cans he might still be on the verge of a mandatory shot

Wednesday morning semi-final Jololov-Frazer.

Hopefully Jalo's pro career doesn't go like Hrgovic or Yoka's. us casuals have no patience

If he's managed properly, he has the potential to beat Joshua, Fury, Wilder all of them, could even be an all time great. Guy is massive, hits harder than Fury, seems to have the technical skills to go with it too.

I'm not saying he will beat those guys and be an ATG. And so much depends on his management, how fast he's brought along, who he fights and more importantly when etc.

But he 100% has the potential to be Great.

Geeze that’s a big wrap. If he was as good as he is now at 20 then I might agree, but I’m not sold on him yet. Reminds me a bit of hrgovic, was quite a slick amateur, but I feel he might fall in love with small gloves and just load up back hand bombs…

still definatly has a shot at being a world champ, but nothing he has done yet suggests he will be good enough fast enough to ever fight fury, probably not AJ either.

So, The Jolly Banger lived up to his favorite status and won the Olympic Gold. He has done it without much problems. Through the whole tourney he was rocked only twice, by Clarke and Torrez, while overall his performances were clearly in his favor. He indeed looked like a boss in the tourney.

he's good for sure....great size, good mobility, good power etc.......though at the higher levels, the total lack of any inside game could be an issue . i also get the impression he doesnt seem that comfortable when guys roughhouse.

but he has the tools for sure that he should climb to around the top 25 pretty easily if he gets matched properly . beyond that it's harder to say, we'll see how he deals with tougher pro opposition, but he seems like a good bet to be a contender.

All that stuff is pro style. Now he should upgrade his pro opposition from lower level journeymen to tougher ones.

He’s really really good.

To be 6’ 7” and to be able to box like that is very impressive. He almost swept the entire olympics. Torres caught him flush one time. But that’s just heavyweight boxing. The man could and should he a contender for the heavyweight title in 2-3 years if he isn’t grossly mismanaged.

I think his chin is questionable.

So far, those Uzbek amateur superstars are disappointing at the pros. Gaibnazarov and Melikuziyev lost, Giyasov's not stepping up, Tulaganov fought 4 times in 4 years, Akhmadaliyev is probably the only Uzbek olympic medalist who is doing good at the pros so far.
