For 1.99 it’s practically free, and most of the time free boxing is the kinda boxing where people don’t even bother watching.

If he was charging POV for this etc then you’d be right to slate him a bit

I think the majority of his shows this year have been good (with a couple of average ones) - and a lot better than his U.K. competitors (although Frank’s last show was pretty good).

I haven’t seen last night’s show yet but look forward to catching up.

Since his DAZN deal in the States, it has been clear for most to see that the standard of his domestic shows have declined.

I think they were poor in 2019 but it’s also coincided with a lack of top U.K. world champs. U.K. boxing tends to be quite cyclical but like I’ve said before I haven’t been disappointed with Matchroom’s output over the last 12 months. We always want more but it’s not like other U.K. promoters have been putting on big U.K. shows.

see im the opposite, i think he's done a good job most the time but i dont see what was so good about that last card.....average quality to me. not awful or anything, but hardly one i'd take my hat off for. not even the best week of fight camp

I didn't particularly find any of the fights exciting on Saturday; the Smith v McCarthy was about the best, which in itself was very repetitive .. neither guy could be expected to progress further than where they are to be fair.

The rest of the card was predictable too. We knew Fowler would win .. it was just how.
If you didn't hear the hype about Can - then the actual fight was once again same thing round after round; one of those fights you could go for a piss mid round and not worry you'd miss something.

If these type of fights are what boxing fans call exciting nowadays, then boxing really is down the pan.

Only caught the main event but I enjoyed that.

Without the big ticket sales and larger venues he's got to work with what he's got.

I think he's done good.

Some other promoters have done hardly anything at all. Hearn has at least given us fights to watch.

Hobson has had one on every week.
