Ruqsana Begum, Tasif Khan to feature on Aug 13 show in Malta
Total Sports Management is pleased to confirm it has agreed on a broadcast deal for its next show.
Promoter Stephen Vaughan Jr. has worked tirelessly to secure a contract with a major outlet for the ‘Maltese Boxing Bonanza’ show on August 13.
The show –– which consists of seven fights and is topped with a title fight between two females –– will be screened exclusively live globally on Fightzone TV, promoted by Total Sports Management for the Vaughan Group in association with Dennis Hobson for Fight Academy and will be sponsored by ShortLetsMalta.com and Crypto Millions.
The vacant WBC International female featherweight title will be at stake when Lucy Wildheart (7-1, 3 KOs) meets Spanish-based Dominican Enerolisa de Leon (6-4-2, 2 KOs) in the main event and the bill will feature a trio of Maltese talents in the shape of Christian Schembri, Brandon Borg and Theon Camilleri.
Former David Haye-managed fighter Ruqsana Begum will see action on the card alongside Tasif Khan.
There have been several changes forced upon the promoter in terms of the line-up of the event but the Liverpool-based man is excited to bring the Maltese Boxing Bonanza to the island of Malta in less than a fortnight’s time.
“We are excited to bring a solid card for this event,” said promoter Stephen Vaughan,
“with bigger events in the pipeline for the island of Malta in the future — all in conjunction with broadcaster Fightzone.”

I had to lose Fightzone as it was making me dislike boxing intensely. And some of the justification for the mismatches are hilarious.
I’m guess Dennis Hobson makes enough dough off friends and family members attending the fights as surely no one pays a fiver a month to watch 8 mismatches in a row?

I'm one of those stupid people who have subscribed, watched some of the huge quantity of junk that has been on Fightzone and forgotten to cancel. I've read on forums that it should be looked at as a charity payment to support the small halls but ultimately the small hall shows are supported by people who buy tickets to see particular boxers hence the term ' hes a big ticket seller.' This doesn't translate well to tv, it's like watching Newport v Oldham in League 2 when you support Arsenal. I'm probably going to watch the Tommy Frank british title fight at the end of August ( if it's still on ?) Then I'm going to bin it as even though £5 a month isnt much, paying for sport shouldn't involve charity. If you are going to televise boxing on a subscription channel, every show needs a British, Commonwealth or European championship quality main event with the occasional headline grabbing fight to boost subscription. The viewing figures must to horrendous.

Don’t forget the return of Dave Allen on the bill , they must have deep pockets purses on this show must be in excess of 50 K & production costs can’t be cheap not sure how many subscribers they would admit to having ?

I’d pay a fiver not to watch Tommy Frank. Horrific style.
I wanted to support Fightzone as the production is slick, guest talkers are quality and the atmosphere looks buzzing a lot of the time. 7 mismatches and 2 60/40 fights and I’m spunking my fiver at them happily.
I did try… it just hurt my eyes!

Don't beat yourself up
I was at the stage of having to psych myself up to look at the upcoming cards. Getting shot of it was a relief
