Ellerbe making insinuations about Canelo is about as rich as Rihanna and Oprah eating overly creamy napoleans.
I agree it was good comedy. I cant say I disagree with a single thing Ellerbe said in that clip but it is comical to hear almost ANYTHING coming from Leonard.
The only part I disagree with is his belittling of Canelo’s recent work.
I agree that Plant is a legit threat to defeat Canelo.
I agree that Canelo’s increased power as he climbs the class ladder has been interesting.
I agree that Charlo and Benavides are desired opponents for boxing fans.

Plant wins the lottery AND gets a shot at all the belts.
Uh oh...and it would appear that there's rage & anger among envy now coming out of the Bivol camp after that slick little bait & switch drama by Eddie and team stepchild.
“[Canelo] was a guy [at] '47 and '54… and he wasn’t a puncher. Now all of a sudden he’s walking through guys [at] '68 and '75. So things are different now”
Within the last decade, the only fighters that went the distance with Canelo at 155lbs and below were Floyd Mayweather Jr., Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley, Erislandy Lara and Austin Trout.
Apart from stating the obvious about these guys (i.e. their calibre), Canelo fought all of them (barring Cotto) between the ages of 21 and 23.
Therefore, I don’t really understand the nature of Leonard Ellerbe’s accusation about Canelo not being a puncher when he competed at 155lbs and below.
Perhaps someone can explain Ellerbe’s reasoning to me, because I don't get it?
People that have commented on this video appear to agree with him, but what real-world events are they using to justify their opinions?
I’m totally confused!

I think Ellerbe is planting a seed of one of two things:
1) Either Canelo is eating much more tainted beef.
Or
2) Canelo's matchmaking has been smart, avoiding high level slick boxers that trouble him.
Honestly, Canelo may just have more energy and stamina not cutting weight. I think Spence is one that will improve at higher weights, walking around in the 170's.

Which "high-level slick boxers" has Canelo avoided?
I can't think of any?

Rematch with Lara, and Andrade, who according to Virgil Hunter is better over- all skilled than Lara. Andrade is being froze out for a reason other than badmouthing Canelo. If you can fight Khan, Fielding, Yildrim, JCC Jr, you can't fight the horrible boxer Andrade?

Lara and Andrade avoided far more boxers than Canelo, slick or not

How can you have the sheer audacity to make such bizarre claims when you haven't even bothered to review the timelines?
Demetrius Andrade has never been on Canelo's radar!
Trout and Lara were both considered the third best 154lb-ers on the planet, only behind Mayweather Jr. and Canelo, at the time of their bouts against the Mexican.
Canelo fought Austin Trout seven months prior to Demetrius Andrade capturing his WBO 154lbs title.
Canelo fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. two months prior to Demetrius Andrade capturing his WBO 154lbs title.
Canelo fought Erislandy Lara one month after Andrade’s one and only WBO title defence against Brian Rose.
Demetrius Andrade was then stripped of his WBO 154lbs title, because he’d ducked Jermell Charlo twice, hadn’t fought for 14 months and didn’t even have a fight lined up.
Demetrius Andrade subsequently captured his WBO middleweight title one month after Canelo's victory over Gennadiy Golovkin.
Canelo's final outing at middleweight (after the GGG win) was against Daniel Jacobs, who was not only the IBF champion, but he was also (at the time) universally regarded as a better fighter at 160lbs than Demetrius Andrade.
Over a timeframe spanning 18 months, Canelo has beaten the likes of Sergey Kovalev, Callum Smith, Billy Joe Saunders and Avni Yildirim at 168lbs and 175lbs.
During the equivalent period, Demetrius Andrade has only faced Luke Keeler and Liam Williams at 160lbs.
One final point to reiterate, Canelo doesn’t even compete in the same weight class as Andrade, so how can he be accused of “ducking” the American?
And one could reasonably argue that five of the names listed in this post were "high-level slick boxers".

Andrade/Hearn claim Canelo refused $40 million to fight Andrade, but instead moved up to fight Kovalev who was shot for $5 million less. They have been the same weight more than once. I just want to see them fight. Canelo will win a decision of course, but won't look good doing it.

Demetrius Andrade alleges that Jermall Charlo rejected a $7m offer from Matchroom to face him.
Eddie Hearn refused to support Andrade's allegation.

Eddie Hearn refused to support Andrade's allegation.
In fact nobody from Matchroom was willing to endorse either of Andrade's claims.
Since signing with Matchroom, Demetrius Andrade has fought Walter Kautondokwa, Artur Akavov, Maciej Sulecki, Luke Keeler and Liam Williams. Those names are all the opponents he's fought over the last four years.
DAZN and Matchroom won't fund Andrade's loss-making events (based on Eddie Hearn's previous admission about losing money on Boo Boo), hence the calibre of opposition he's facing.

Sergey Kovalev was the WBO light heavyweight champion and also rated 3th at 175lbs (by ESPN & The RING) when Canelo faced him.
Eddie Hearn refused to support Andrade's claim that Canelo rejected a $40m offer to fight the American.
And this was prior to Hearn's working relationship with Canelo commenced.
Hearn is the one that stated it. Kovalev was 37 ffs and shot with a rehydration clause. Canelo even needed a 164.5 catchweight for jcc jr, who had trouble making 168. Don't waste my time with your bs. You'll never admit you're wrong, just like to argue. Get a real job. Done with you.

I'll agree to being wrong if you can quote Eddie Hearn claiming that Canelo rejected a $40m payday to face Demetrius Andrade.
You won't do this, because it didn't happen.
You also previously said that Eddie Hearn claimed Jermall Charlo rejected a $7m payday to face Andrade, but you couldn't prove it, because it never happened.
The only person that cited those numbers was Demetrius Andrade. No one from Matchroom has ever corroborated Boo Boo's monetary claims. Offers might have been made, but no purse figures were ever disclosed either by Eddie Hearn or his employees.
If Matchroom has a massive war chest at their disposal and are willing to pay over-the-odds to make certain fights happen for Andrade(as per the sums Boo Boo has cited), then please explain the reason why Eddie Hearn has pitted Demetrius against Walter Kautondokwa, Artur Akavov, Maciej Sulecki, Luke Keeler and Liam Williams within the last four years?
Why hasn't Eddie Hearn orchestrated marquee bouts for Andrade against any of his fellow Matchroom stablemates?

Andrade can fight Charlo, Jacobs or Benavidez and defeat them to earn his Canelo shot. But hes too scared. Anyway, Alvarez already defeated him at epic post fight press conference

So, Canelo isn’t fighting Plant to unify 168, but only to duck Andrade?

Normally publicly calling someone out that is a champion is admirable. Bad mouth the biggest Diva in the sport gets you "Get the F out of here". Epic? Only if you're an idiot.

Andrade has only himself to blame for fiddlefornicating his career and talent away.
Calling out Canelo at his post fight press conference “is admirable?” All he was missing are orange hair and the clown shoes. He made a grand fool of himself, and got clowned by Canelo.
Everybody wants the Canelo lottery ticket.

Some guys that would fight Andrade I think are Benavidez, Rosado or Chenko.
Anyway maybe Andrade is coasting until Canelo would run out of good opponents somehow and then pull out a "BJS's lucky card". lol
