2007 Lucian Bute that beat Sakio Bika vs 2020 Callum Smith , vs 2021 BJS and vs 2021 Plant ? How these fights would go?

Bute was a decent 168 fighter but I think he should've moved up at 175 lbs after he KO'ed Andrade bc Bute was a big smw that I think he had a hard time to make 168.
Who would win ?

Yup I think Bute should've moved up at 175 after he KO'ed Andrade in rematch. He would've been much stronger at 175. At 175 he could've fought Cloud for the ibf 175 title, then he had B-Hop, Pascal and Dawson as the bigger names.
I think a 2007 version of Bute would've beat 2020 Smith and 2021 BJS.

Bute would have beaten Smith, but the BJS and Plant fights would be competitive. Bute was cute, and he had good pop but he wasn’t all that.
Froch would have comfortably dispatched all three. Canelo would flatten Bute. Ward would have made him cry.

Smith is probably better than the Canelo fight, so it would likely have been a distance fight that might have been edged by Bute. BJS was really a viable super middle, more of an unmotivated overweight middle. Bute probably would have got him out of there in the 2nd half. Plant seems like a bit of work horse of the Eric Lucas type. Bute by UD I’d guess.

Yup. Anyway I think BJS would underperform against Bute. Also Bute had some nice uppercuts!

Yeah 2007 Bute would be the better fighter. As you said Plant would probably be a tougher fight for Bute.

Callum Smith and Billy Joe Saunders beats the excessively hyped and protected 2007 iteration of Lucian Bute by a comfortably wide margin on the judges scorecards.
Carl Froch badly exposed the Romanian/Canadian. And this led to Bute becoming the B-side, which forced him rebuild his career by taking a step up in class, leading to him regularly losing by wide margins.
Lucian Bute was a protected hype job. We don't need to talk about him anymore, because genuine fight fans don't applaud categorically proven hype-jobs.

Exactly!
And yet The RING and ESPN bizarrely regarded him as the very best 168lb-er on the planet whilst the likes of Andre Ward, Carl Froch, Andre Dirrell, Mikkel Kessler, Arthur Abraham, Jermain Taylor, Glen Johnson and Allan Green were brave enough to engage in the Super Six World Boxing Classic.
Perhaps that's the reason why fighters nowadays are so focussed on protecting their zeros, because as soon as they lose, they're written off by the media and mainstream casuals?
In the four years prior to destroying Lucian Bute, Carl Froch continually engaged in back-to-back bouts against current/former world champions, such as: Robin Reid, Jean Pascal, Jermain Taylor, Andre Dirrell, Mikkel Kessler, Arthur Abraham, Glen Johnson and Andre Ward.
Meanwhile, Lucian Bute continued receiving the plaudits from the media, despite his poor resume over the equivalent timeframe, simply because his zero was being protected.
How the hell did ESPN and The RING get it so wrong? What on earth compelled them to ride the Lucian Bute hype train and rate him so highly?
It seems that apollo creed might be the only passenger left riding the Lucian Bute hype train!

Saunders and Smith took bigger risks with their careers. Both men tried facing the very best at 168lbs. Lucian never did that. It simply didn't happen... ever!
Bute was only willing to face Carl Froch after the Brit had tasted defeat against Kessler and Ward. He'd never previously tried to make that fight. The Canadian/Romanian was considered the favourite against the man from Nottingham when they fought and ended up getting destroyed.
Callum beat the highest-rated fighters in his own division. Lucian Bute did not.
Smith was The RING champion (he gained that title by beating George Groves), the winner of the WBSS and also the WBA Super World Super middle titleholder.
The Brit was also considered the top dog at 168lbs by ESPN and TBRB prior to the Canelo bout.
At some point or other, Callum Smith, Canelo (twice), Golovkin (twice), Lemieux, Khurtsidze, Andrade and Eubank Jr. have all previously either declined opportunities to face Saunders or expressed their disinterest in facing the Brit or withdrew from bouts that Billy Joe had signed-up for.
And prior to the bizarre MSAC situation, which compelled Billy Joe to withdraw from the Boo Boo bout, Andrade was on video claiming he wasn't ready to face Saunders yet.
Callum Smith and Billy Joe Saunders beats the excessively hyped and protected 2007 iteration of Lucian Bute by a comfortably wide margin on the judges scorecards.

An overly-sensitive triggered snowflake member of Generation Z has made me cry!
Cancel him! Cancel him NOW, because feelings are far more important than facts!!!
We need more diversity and representation in boxing, because hype jobs are being unfairly discriminated against by fight fans!
We need to employ affirmative action, to reduce inequality, by protecting hype jobs to ensure they receive praise from fight fans they haven’t even earned!

Yup. I doubt that Smith, Plant and especially BJS beat much better opponents than Bute - like a younger version of Sakio Bika and Librado Andrade.
Smith beat a damaged goods Groves, Plant beat Uzcategui and BJS beat a washed up - damaged goods Murray - lol
Canelo just picked those belts in a very weak smw era.

Bute marketing and matchmaking were masterful. Avoiding the SS made sense for his team, putting him in a much stronger position relative to all but the winner of the tournament.
Bute was successfully/pragmatically managed, in retrospect. I certainly considered him overrated at the time.

“Just picked those belts?” No, he has fought for those belts vs the best the weight class has to offer during HIS era.
I have been a huge critic of Canelo in the past but I just don’t get the belittling of what he has been doing at 168. Weak era?
What are you trying to get at? Spit it out.
Are you saying Canelo is weak?

Another perfect example of someone believing feelings are more important than facts.
It’s almost as if someone telling anecdotes is far more persuasive than another individual citing objective truths that cannot be refuted.
Hence the reason why you resort to personal insults rather than directly challenging my knowledge.

Bute's wins over Bika and Andrade are trumping Smith, Plant and especially BJS wins at 168. lol
