Robin Krasniqi vs. Dominic Boesel Rematch on October 9

SES has just announced that Robin Krasniqi (51-6) and Dominic Boesel (30-2) will do it again October 9 at the Getec Arena in Magdeburg, Germany.

Krasnigi won their first round encounter with a stunning knockout of Boesel to win the IBO and WBA interim light heavyweight titles last October 10, also in Magdeburg.

The ending was a bit controversial as Krasniq landed with a right and Boesel went down - but the referee ruled a slip and waved the fight on as soon as the defending champion was on his feet.

However, Boesel was visibly hurt and was caught by a big right and went down and out with the referee waving the fight off without counting. Had Boesel received the mandatory eight count after "the slip" he might have recovered.

Krasniqi hasn't fought since while Boesel returned in May in Slovenia with a points win over Czech journeyman Ondrej Budera.

The WBA Interim title is now gone but the IBO crown remains.

More of a revenge but not in spectacular fashion by Boesel, I sense.

B/Nation have just picked this up for UK/Irish fans, haven't seen much of Krasniqi since the losses to Cleverly and Braehmer and I'm not even sure if I've seen Boesel before despite knowing of him for a while, surprised to see a rematch considering Krasniqi stopped Boesel in 3 rounds in the first
fight

Edit- just read the OP so now understand why there a rematch

Just watched this there, decent enough fight, Boesel won a SD but I had Krasniqi running out a 116-112 winner, thought he bossed long spells and landed the effective eye catching punches, the overhand right especially worked well, he'd land then roll under the counter, Krasniqi also put some nice combinations together, Boesel did improve as the fight went on, tried to establish the jab with some success but didn't win enough rounds for me

Krasniqi protests loss to Bösel

Light heavyweight contender Robin Krasniqi is aiming to overturn his split decision loss to Dominik Bösel last Saturday in Magdeburg, Germany. Krasniqi’s main sponsor Burim Hazrolli is willing to bankroll one-million euros for legal proceedings. Krasniqi’s lawyer has filed a protest with the BDB and IBO, and plans to “enforce Krasniqi’s rights,” as well as clear up irregularities that allegedly occurred before and after the fight. The bout was scored 115-114 for Krasniqi, 115-114, 116-112 for Bösel. Both fighters are in the SES Boxing stable and promoter Ulf Steinforth is siding with Bösel. Stay tuned.

Krasniqi still waiting for results of appeal

Former WBA interim light heavyweight champion Robin Krasniqi says he hasn’t heard a peep out of the German Boxing Commission (BDB) since protesting his split decision loss to Dominic Bösel six weeks ago.

The team of the Kosovo-born Krasniqi team questions why the international panel of judges were changed by the BDB to an all-German team (including the BDB President’s daughter) that they allege are close to German-born Bösel and promoter SES Boxing. They also point out when German Rico Mueller lost to Poland’s Rafal Jackiewicz last year, the BDB quickly acted on Team Mueller’s protest and reversed the decision in days.
