Vaccine passport at boxing shows

Just wondering whats coming down the line here, it appears Scottish gov announced today mandatory vaccine passport for nightclub, music festivals , sporting events etc from October.

Not Scottish myself but was interested in attending Josh Taylor show in December. Josh is opposed to these vaccine passport checks but its outside his control. I know there was issues in recent Belfast show about this but a PCR test was sufficient. It appears that wont be sufficient in Scotland.

I don't believe there is checks at English shows so far or Joshua Usyk , but how long will that last? Will it affect ticket sales.

Yes it will affect ticket sales because a minority including myself won't be getting said passport .
Whether it'll be enough to make a big enough hit in ticket sales only time will tell .
Nightclubs and pubs I can see in general being the hardest hit purely because of the average age of people visiting them will include a larger percentage of potential anti vax customers .
Why do healthy kids and younger adults need the jibber jab anyway ?

It'll be like the big gigs, surely?

So New Order in Heaton Park tomorrow, they're asking for negative tests OR Covid passports. They're not even saying the passports are mandatory.

My niece just got it and she was double jabbed, no hospital or nothing, no serious symptoms but of course she could spread it.
I suppose is its 90% effective, a lot of folk are still going to get it.

I believe it's nightclubs and anything indoor over 500 supposedly. Outdoor would be higher. But supposedly no PCR, passport only which is new. Scot gov are strict on their regs so it's believable.

You'd hope for more leniency in England.

I'm in Ireland and we can't go to the pub, cinema or restaurant etc without vaccine pass. It's not strictly enforced in some areas but at sporting events if it becomes law the checks will be stricter with all the stewards and security there.

My Dad got it, double jabbed spent a few days in hospital on ventilation and 3 weeks in bed at home.

Im going to watch the Manics in Cardiff in 2 weeks, apparently that requires a passport.

There's a certain irony also in that I'd imagine a significant amount fighters haven't been vaccinated

Go to a nightclub and eat some pills from daveo that were made in some Albanians bathtub. But not be too keen to risk a jab that billions of people have gotten.

I won't be getting it either for various reasons, I already had Covid and I'm relatively young. If vaccine passports are mandatory I'll not be at a boxing show until that changes unfortunately.

In saying that there isn't much shows at the moment that I'd fancy but I was considering Taylor Catterall fight in December.

Used to live in a country where people had choice .
If they chose to do that then so be it .

:OhYes:

Yep most shows at the moment they should be paying people to attend it's so bad!

The big stadium fights like AJs aren't that great anyway unless you have very good seats. Doubt Fury fights over here anytime soon either.

The truth is the promoters are already really struggling to sell tickets these days and thats before any vaccine pass. Hearn, Sky and Warren will not be happy one bit if this becomes mandatory.

You never had consequence free choice. You couldent chose not to pay tax, chose not to go the speed limit, chose to drink and drive… issues that effect public health have always had government driven punishments for people that chose to go against them.

I I’m not saying I like vaccine passports, but to suggest this is the first time you have been coerced to do somthing by the government is not true.

You can get jabbed and go, or not get jabbed and watch from home. By definition a choice.
brilo33 wrote: 09 Sep 2021, 17:58i just dont get it if ur doubled jabbed you can still get it and pass it on
But you're much less likely to, so the transmission rate falls enough for the NHS to cope with admissions. Plus you might recover faster if you're hospitalised, freeing up a bed sooner.

Same here I was double jabbed and caught Covid about 3 weeks ago, it will still spread even with said passports

Pre delta the vaccines were very effective at slowing transmission. Different game now. In a nutshell hardly at all.

Seems strange to pick and choose when these passports are required. Go to work all week with no controls. Cram into a tube on route to a gig/fight/nightclub. Cram into a pub, but you cant then get into event.

I'm double jabbed and stay away from conspiracys...but you can see where they get their fuel sometimes.

Goes to show to show you you can come from a position of privelage and and all that with a rich background & going through the best school, but you just cant buy brains & common sense

My stance on the vaccine is its up to that individual whether they want it or not simple as that - respect in public places goes without saying,if someones getting unnessecarily close to you in a shop queue those are the sort of divs that are problems imo and they need to be told about it

Anyway, how can a negative test not be enough on the day/night of an event, but a vaccine where you could still be carrying the virus and pass it on to every man and his wife is?! About public safety isnt it?🤔so whys the neg test not good enough?

Dont make one bit of sense

Orbtastics is the first post ive seen where the organisers have sense it seems

Stop being knobs and get vaccinated. Nothing bad gonna happen.
Unvaccinated shouldn’t be allowed to leave the house.

Calm down before you all start I was being too funny.
Should allow unvaccinated in but only after they’ve paid for an approved PCR test.
A lateral flow test is not good enough as these are ridiculously easy to fake. Put it in your ass ffs and get a negative result.
Vaccinated or you stump up 50 quid for a PCR test before the event.
