I would actually favor Patterson.
He was a Huge 122 guy.

I think that he would absorb the offense of Gomez.
He would nullify the aggression of Gomez.
Patterson would win on work-rate and overall credentials utilized to his fullest extent.

Patterson was basically a Ray Mercer of the 122 division, in his ability to absorb punches. His boxing skills were well above average, and his speed was plenty sufficient, and his strength was obviously far superior compared with his opponents in that division.

I would expect Patterson to prevail in this hypothetical. A decisive win it would be.
A 7-5 or 8-4 decision win,and very possibly a late round tko win, if Gomez really went for broke. Patterson is a Very underrated boxer,especially the 122 version of him.

At 130 i'd go with Patterson.

At 122 Gomez by TKO 11.

Gomez TKO10-11 or fairly wide UD. Nothing against Patterson, who was good. His best win was probably over Zaragoza in their second fight. He was not in Gomez' class at 122 or, probably 126

Gomez would KO Patterson in 8 rounds
