what are examples of genuine luck youve seen in the ring

i always remember a kickboxing one night tournament. a guy got ko'd in his frst fight, but his opponent was injured and couldnt continue, so the loser got his spot in the semifinals. then in the semis, his opponent injured their own leg while throwing a kick, so the guy moved to the finals. then in the finals, the guy was down 2-0 in a 3 round fight, and his opponent injures their arm throwing a punch and cant continue, so dude wins the tournament without having won a round all night

some ppl say luck doesnt exist in the ring, absolute bullsheet

james kirkland, down on points (though rallying) gets a dq win when carlos molinas trainer enters the ring like 1 second before the bell rings at the end of the round

How many rounds did Haye fight on after he snapped it? I remember many saying Bellew couldn’t finish off a crippled Haye in the ring.

those are bad predictions , not really rewriting history tbf , although if someone repeats something enough ppl start to believe it

No the cut was not lucky but that Lennox was blowing out of his backside and down on all the cards it felt like a lucky escape to me.

Watching the fight back over the years I do feel Lewis was getting back into the fight.

Vitali was exhausted too. He couldn't even normally stand in the final round, he looked bothered by Lewis' shots and was trying too hold on. Where was that confidence before the bell and stoppage? I think, it was Lewis, who was going towards a KO win.

I agree. There was one shot in particular towards the end of the 6th, a short right hook to the temple I think, after which Vitali staggered into holding Lewis, and wouldn't let him go despite being led halfway round the ring. Then the bell went and he took forever to get back to his corner. It's easier to act like that when you know the fight's over.

i thought lennox was bringing it at the time of the stoppage. slowly getting on top and finding a home for those uppercuts.

Yeah I agree, I did post again after that initial post saying in hindsight I thought Lewis was starting to get to Vitali. I do wish they would've did it again though.

Greg "Mutt" Haugen got lucky in defence of his IBF lightweight title against Puerto Rico's Miguel Santana back in 1988. Haugen started well and built up a lead but Santana weathered the storm and was hammering an exhausted Haugen when the fighters clashed heads in the 11th round of a 15-rounder. Haugen was too badly cut to continue but two of the judges had him ahead and he hung on to his belt.
