Imo a 38y/o Andre Ward would be Canelo's toughest opponent!(better than GGG,Charlo,Benavidez,Bivol or Beterbiev)

Ward is 37 y/o, so it's not that old. He's probably in a good shape and if he'd take a few fights to shake off that ring rust like he did before fighting Kovalev, Ward could be in a good shape for Canelo.

Let's say Ward, next year at 38 y/o would have 2-3 tune ups fights vs decent 168 fighters and then fight Canelo!

How a 38-39 y/o Andre Ward (with 2-3 tune up fights) would do against a 32-33 y/o Canelo @168lbs? :box:

If you were an avid follower of the sport of boxing, you’d realise that Andre Ward is physically broken.

He’s filed a $6.3m lawsuit against his insurers to collect the money he’s entitled to receive due to the terms of his disability policy.

He claims to be suffering from a debilitating knee injury that’s preventing him from competing in boxing.

as well as being physically disabled, Andre Ward hasn’t fought for more than four years.

End of thread! Moderators, lock it, since it’s a pointless discussion.

son, are you able to provide from "horse's mouth" an irrefutable evidence of what you are talkin about? Bradley is suggesting that Ward is able to do it. :TU:

Ward vs Canelo at 168 in 2022 would a sweet, sweet mega fight! :box: :OhYes:

Bradley is only human. He makes mistakes like all of us do.

I just cherry-picked the first article I found, but this issue was heavily publicised.

If you don't believe that article, perform a Google search and you'll quickly find several others.

And if you still refuse to concede reality, you can even read the actual lawsuit paperwork that's been filed against the Lloyd's of London insurers (you'll need to sign-up, but access to this documentation is free for seven days).

Also, if you click on this hyperlink, it'll provide Google search results from 2008 through to 2017, whereby Andre Ward seemingly suffered constant back-to-back knee injuries throughout the entirety of his career.

I’m not sure what more I can say really?

I don’t know why you’re clamouring for Canelo to face a physically disabled retired pro that’s been inactive for more than four years!

Let’s face it, Andre Ward isn’t going to commit fraud, which is a criminal offence, by coming out of retirement, after filing a lawsuit to claim $6.3m from a disability policy!!!!

Lol you're so gullible, or you like to play it like that but if Canelo will straight up call out Ward, then we may have a mega fight for lots of money! Ward would get more than 6.3 M's W, D or L! :OhYes: :box:

First of all, it would take an astronomical amount of money to get Ward out of retirement. Secondly, the fight would have to be at 175. In other words, not happening.

Fraud is a criminal offence. It has much bigger consequences than Ward's initial $6.3m claim against his insurers!

Use your brain! FFS! :o

Andre Ward retired because he considers himself physically disabled! He's not going to miraculously get better, just because someone writes him a cheque containing lots of numbers!!! :brick:

Ward would get 30-40 M's with ease from this mega fight!

For 40-50 M's Ward would fight Canelo even if he'd be 60 y/o ! You don't know the inside stuff of Ward's seemingly legal battle that you just read on the internet.

If this fight would ever get made I'd like to see Ward taking a few tune ups vs John Ryder (who exposed Callum Smith) and Chudinov, then have a full training camp with Hunter for the fight with Canelo!

This fight would be massive! :box:

Ward would get done over, he's too old and too inactive. Didn't he have some lingering injuries too?

In theory ward could make the disability claim and fight again. I dont know the status of that suit buts its a bs insurance claim coming from an expert - ward doeant have a leg to stand on.

He has a specialty policy he made a claim on for disability for knees

His problem is he fought twice after saying they were injured, knees are impossible to prove itnisnt a degenerative condition, and his particular insurer is a litigator not a pragmatic settlement firm

Anyhow, he can still fight. He wouldnt be guilty of criminal fraud he can argue some exercise cured him. That would be impossible to disprove

True. Ward would not be crazy to say NO to a 40-50 M's payday vs Canelo!

Ward has the option to outmaneuver this situation if Canelo will call him out and make him a big fight offer!

Did you read the lawsuit notes?

I provided a link to them.

I have to assume you didn’t, and I’m not being disparaging when I say that, because I know you’re far more intelligent than your sentences I’ve just quoted in this post.

Hopefully, you’re not going to say something silly, like you don’t even need to read them to know what’s going on.

Dude, it’s a money grab move by Ward’s Lawyer to grab dough while Ward is idle. If Canelo and Ward began negotiating and the money was in the ballpark for Ward, I’m sure he’d retract his motions for disability reimbursement. He could easily claim that rehab has reversed the condition and he no longer would require any coverage. So many pro athletes or I should say, their lawyers, take this route. This is not new. All American athletes that retire with gas left in the tank do this. If you think that is something that would stand in the way of Ward fighting again then you know very little about sports insurance.
