It’s not a “Brexit freedom”. Atlantic Bluefin Tuna is a protected species which has only just begun to return to U.K. waters in a number that allows very limited commercial exploitation. EU operates a Bloc-wide quota system so it was appropriate given the endangered nature of the fish that U.K. was not allowed to catch it in our waters and it is likely that, had we remained in EU, limited fishing as U.K. government is now trialling would have been permitted.IRONFIST wrote: ↑16 Aug 2023, 06:46 Consumer champion Nigel Farage showing what the Brussels Broadcasting Corporation won't show, our Brexit freedoms allowing us more fishing, Bluefin tuna etc at around the 41 minute mark I hadn't realised the blighters were that bigAlso a business boss whose business is thriving in Brexit Britain at around the 54 minute mark

It wears a bit thin, though. It's the same tired act he's been playing for years. The EU only care about quotas as long as they get the lion's share. Not allowed to catch in our own waters and ask the EU for permission, sling your hook! (no pun intended). If we had proper politicians rather than these EU stooges, they'd tell the EU to get lost, thankfully we the people/freedom fighters told the evil EU empire to get lost on that glorious day/night in 2016.chinarich wrote: ↑16 Aug 2023, 12:23It’s not a “Brexit freedom”. When UK was in the EU we had an equal part in deciding the quotas so they were ours as much as anyone's; you insufferable imbecile...IRONFIST wrote: ↑17 Aug 2023, 07:47The EU only care about quotas as long as they get the lion's share. I got my new passport today. Much nicer colour than the old red ones, will happily confirm that’s the first tangible Brexit benefit I’ve encountered to date.

That cartoon is correct, new passports should have been free on demand. Cost me nearly 400 quid to do the family.

We've got ours due now, too. Though with the cost of everything and having to renew a £300,000 mortgage in October, I don't think foreign travel is likely.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑17 Aug 2023, 09:55 That cartoon is correct, new passports should have been free on demand. Which private company got the rights to make Spanish passports, and why haven't they figured out that a captive market can be milked for far more?

I might do it in the future, it's a complicated paperwork exercise and you need to take a couple of exams.Fray Bentos wrote: ↑20 Aug 2023, 11:55Are you a citizen now?Coco wrote: ↑20 Aug 2023, 07:4310 years, and when I say same day, it's done in front of you, the whole process takes 10 minsFray Bentos wrote: ↑20 Aug 2023, 07:38
