Wlad could win some rounds and even make Bowe feel his power, but with Bowe's onslaught, range, durability and chin it's hard to imagine Riddick not getting to the shaky chin of Wlad at some point.

Ehhh... Much as I like Wladimir I think Bowe comes straight at him like a freight train and probably stops him inside 6-8 rounds. All the jabbing and clenching in the world wouldn't save Klitschko. It seemed to me that he had easier fights against taller men (ie, Jorge Gonzales) than he did smaller men.

Bowe of the first Holyfield and trained under Eddie Futch would beat the 2011 Wlad, who was trained under Manny Steward by decision or late round stoppage. However, if the 2011 Wlad, who was trained under Manny Steward would out-box and out-punch Bowe of the "Fan Man" fight rematch with Holyfield for decision win.

Outpunched Bowe? huh? Bowe stops Klitschko in the mid rounds of a one-sided fight. These are two fighters who were simply not at the same level. Bowe was significantly better.

Sorry, I meant Wlad would counter Bowe to out-punch him on the outside as Wlad would not engage with Bowe on the inside. I said Bowe of the first Holyfield fight would beat Wlad by decision or late round stoppage, but the Manny Steward trained Wlad would beat Bowe from the second Holyfield fight by decision. Your opinion is your opinion.

Klitschko wasn't a glass jaw by any means. His chin wasn't good, but it wasn't that bad either. Glass jaw is like Amir Khan or David Price, who get wobbled with nearly every punch and get iced by an every big one. Klitschko's chin is about the same as Floyd Patterson's, for example. Klitschko is known for overcoming adversity on numerous occasions.

I thought about Wlad's chin wasn't so glass nor chinny and if he had a glass jaw would get knockout every time, Purrity, Sanders, Brewster (1st fight) and Joshua landed, but Wlad stood to their bombs and people forget Wlad survived the two knockdowns against Samuel Peters in their first fight and out-boxed him to take a decision. For Bowe, outside of Holyfield, he fought good fighters in his time, but he never fought Mike Tyson nor Lennox Lewis, whom Bowe for whatever reason refused to defend his newly world heavyweight title by dumping the WBC title into the trash can rather than fighting him. Also, Bowe didn't have a long reign as World Heavyweight Champion, but Wlad would fight nearly every comers while being trained by the late great Manny Steward, who also trained Lennox Lewis and Wlad defended his IBF Heavyweight title 18 times. Wish Wlad fought Lewis (outside of the Ocean Eleven film), Tyson and Holyfield, so Wlad could have given more credit for overall in skills and more great oppositions he faced.

He got stopped by Purrity. Got stopped by Brewster. Got stopped by Sanders. None of who mwould be accused of being great fighters.

One win over a great fighter is much more impressive than many title defenses over mediocrities and stiffs.

I didn't pick him over Bowe, he would most likely be stopped by Riddick, but he didn't have a glass jaw.

You never watch Wlad's first fight with Samuel Peters where Wlad survived the knockdown and please watch the highlights of the fight as you ignored everything I said. Finally, I was making my opinions in both ways on that scenario.

Bowe did sign a contract to fight Lewis. That is a fact. All Lewis had to do was beat Oliver McCall. Lewis lost to McCall and the deal with Bowe fell through.

Maybe you don't remember boxing around 2000-2001. For more than two years the biggest potential heavyweight fight was Lewis-Wladimir Klitschko. (check the ring Magazine Ratings) It never happened.

You mean the 1988 Olympics where Riddick Bowe fought because you made a typo that it was 10 years later, which there were no Summer, but Winter Olympics and Bowe was in his retirement year in 1998. Anyways, good point that Bowe's history or being hurt and floored in his amateur's career.

I question that judgment. IMO, you've got to take into consideration the circumstances under which Vlad was hurt and floored.

In the Brewster and Purrity fights, the knockdowns occurred because Vlad was exhausted, totally drained of stamina. That's why he left his chin exposed. Brewster and Purrity were very heavy punchers too, assuming they were allowed to square up and land their shots with full force.

As for the Sanders debacle, I think that almost any heavyweight would have been floored, and possibly stopped, by the shots Sanders landed that night. The problem for Vlad on this occasion is that he was confused by Sanders's unusual hand speed and southpaw style. Therefore, even this disaster of a fight doesn't necessarily count as evidence that Klitschko had a glass jaw.

The truth here is nuanced.

As for Vlad standing up to Bowe's punches, I agree that Bowe would KO Vlad if permitted to unload with a succession of power shots. But would the 2011 Klitschko have allowed that to happen? That's questionable. For Vlad, the secret to winning a Bowe fight is to prevent Riddick from landing with anything significant. Can you say with certainty that Bowe would have an easy time penetrating Klitschko's guard? That's the big question.

We are counting a knockdown in an amateur fight for Bowe but make excuses for one knockdown after another for Klitschko in the pro ranks?
He lost to Brewster because he was drained of stamina? In five rounds? With Manny Steward as his trainer? Come on.
Now Ross Purrrity was a heavy puncher? Ross Purritty?
Nobody thought Sanders was good until that fight. He never more than a fringe contender. A lot guys would have survived that fight.
How about getting decked Davrryl Williamson?

It's too much. We can't keep making excuses for the guy. He had a weak chin.

Can't believe that we are going back to the amateur ranks to criticize Bowe. Can't remember the last time somebody did that. Then make excuses for fight after fight where Klitschko's weak chin was exposed.

Bowe would KO Wlad I think. Wlad was an excellent fighter, and would be more than a handful for a lot of people, but I think Bowe would be a really, really tough fight for him.

Klitschko is rated fair enough and even picked to lose by the majority of this thread. It's just well-known that both Klitschkos make your butt itch unbearably and for you they are bad at every aspect.
