how much would hws really weigh if they were in shape + cut weight?

the size difference between the average hw and cruiser gets talked about a lot
but i think many of the career hws could get close to the low 200s if they lost the flab and dehydrated weight before the fight like cruisers have to
obviously guys like aj, fury, etc are natural shws. but how much bigger is a guy like joe parker or whyte really compared to usyk? how 'naturally' big is chris arreola when he's still flabby as f@ck in the 220s, whereas usyk is muscular and has ribs showing?
even at their lower weights these guys have absolutely no definition to be seen, plus they dont dehydrate to make a weight limit, which inflates the weight disparity between them and cruisers fighting at 200

just "losing the flab" isnt really a thing. Different people opperate at different body fat percentages. Plus getting in the required training on a significant calorie deficit is tough.
but If you offered any of them a fight vs Jake paul at 200lbs for 100 million dollars winner takes all 1 year from today, i think everyone would make it except fury, joyce, and breazeal but some would be very different fighters.

it is a thing, anyone with more rolls than a bakery has weight they can lose. if you're watching your calories and working your arse off there's no reason to be a fatty
you almost never see such prolific fat in any other sport that requires endurance. heavyweight divisions in combat sports seems to be the exception, and of course the guys who actually have limits to make are ripped
if you take a look at records you'll also notice a lot of the flabby guys used to be much lighter, only to balloon over time. they werent merely born that way

I think at least half of pro heavyweight boxers can cut down to cruiserweight and lot of them can cut down to 175 or even 168. Lot of fans saying how much weight Usyk gained, but he weighed 210 lbs years ago against Michael Hunter. Mike Perez weighed 242 lbs against Bryant Jennings and he was not that fat. Two years later he fought Briedis at Cruiserweight with ripped sixpack at weigh in. Adam Kownacki can lose 70 lbs of fat with proper training. Cannot stand these fat HWs.

ya good point
was mike perez one of these supposed natural fatties while at hw, then suddenly by magic able to make cruiser? no! like many others he was just carrying excess rolls

adam sandland, who fought at heavy, went on a diet and then got down to like 175, where he was still softer than most pros at that weight. he wasnt some natural flabby guy who couldnt ever lose weight, he just needed to watch what he ate better and train hard
though i think he fattened up again

Everyone has a different baseline.
Fury is flabby naturally . Getting fury looking like AJ would be near impossible and detrimental. His baseline is fat, when he is in shape he is flabby. When he stopped training he became a 400lb coke addict somthing that is nearly impossible for most.
Ruiz is flabby, people say if Ruiz was in shape he would be a middle weight, but Ruiz is in shape at 250 lb, it’s just his in shape isn’t “abs”.
Wilder is skinny naturally.
Parker is medium.
Some are just lazy sure, and these guys spend some time out of shape, but they are top 10 guys getting millions, they are in shape.

what would happen then, if ruiz, starting at 250 pounds, cut his caloriess to say 2500 and trained very hard. since he's naturally flabby, would he just not drop anything? can his fat and saggy man tits simply not come off?
his father is actually quite lean btw!

btw, also interesting how the hws used to all be chiseled
i guess human genetics changed rapidly in the span of a few generations, now 80 percent of heavyweights are just naturally flabby

when mike perez was a top 15 heavyweight, weighing around 240, what would you have said his baseline was, and if it wasnt naturally fat, how could you tell compared ruiz?

I dont think mike perez was ever really fat. he was really a solid 230slb mainly. came in a bit over weight in the 245s or somthing. I think Perez is optimum fine anywhere from 220-235 depending on how lean he is. id say that range is his equivalent to ruizs 245-255 kinda thing. Perez at 245 i would say is probably out of shape, just like ruiz at 270+ is out of shape.
hearns is ruizs height, longer reach and more skill, if people didnt have different baselines someone like hearns could of just moved all the way up to being the heavyweight champ of the world... and ruiz could be calling out floyd for a money fight at 147....
This examples is a comical extreme, but everyone has a natrual weight/build they kind of gravitate towards. You can go up or down a bit, but you cant fight genetics.

There were very few naturally flabby guys after a few weeks in a Japanese POW camp.
If you take in fewer calories than you burn you lose fat. Only people trying to sell you something will claim otherwise.

how come genetic fatness only became rampant in boxers within the last few decades then?

fact is there always have been top 'boxing fit' boxers who just didn't look like fitness models.
fact is you don't have to look like a veiny dick from top to bottom to know how to box and be in tip top shape for twelve rounds.
go watch mister beach fitness of the universe then to bust a nut on the screen of your choice on their shredded split asses.

this is usyk having made the 200 cruiser limit vs gassiev, i think he was about 210 in the ring
now vs aj, still with some definition, he was 220+. if he was carrying as much tire as a lot of these hws weight, an extra layer of flab, he'd be 230+ easily. there would 'suddenly' seize to be much of a size difference at all between him and say, joe parker, who by the way has a shorter reach by 3 inches too. you'd hardly think anything of the size between them if you'd never known usyk was a cruiser. yet usyk made cruiser and for someone like parker people would think it's totally absurd
cruiserweights getting themselves shredded, plus draining weight, makes people overestimate how much bigger a lot of these flabby career heavyweights are.
its not saying anyone needs to become body beautiful, just that for the guys who campaigned at cruiser they had to get shredded like the heavys dont, and that + dehydrating took their weight down. not always a case of being way naturally smaller

That's not the point, though, the question is how many heavyweights could get down to cruiserweight if they wanted to; nobody is claiming it would make them better fighters to lose the weight.

Biggie was 217 against Sam Peter, maybe he could make it?
I’ve always thought this and totally agree with you Maggie. If you consider that there’s lightweights walking around 20 pound heavier than they fight at then it’s not a stretch to think a 220 heavy with visible body fat could lose 20 pounds.
The reasons WHY they stay at heavy are fairly obvious
