Oleksandr Usyk's team have announced that Anthony Joshua has 'activated in principle' a rematch clause and they hope Kiev will host the fight in February.
The Ukrainian star was crowned as the new WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight champion after his unanimous decision win over Joshua at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night.
Joshua had indicated he wanted an immediate rematch, saying at the final press conference: "100 per cent. 110 per cent.

I would think Usyk is over the moon about the rematch. I assume he takes the 60% portion this time, and as he said - it wasn`t the most difficult fight he has had .. even at heavyweight.

If Joshua doesn’t get drawn into a boxing match he should win

definitely,if he boxes he loses,if he goes for it, he walks onto a combo and gets stopped.

I think Usyk will do whatever he likes in the fight and Joshua will have no answers to it,a more dominant performance from Usyk is on the cards I think

I can't see AJ winning, Usyk won't do a Ruiz and come in fat. Plus Usyk will have the home advantage. AJ's only chance for me is to come in heavy and try and get Usyk out early.

I'd like to see AJ go to the body more and earlier, bigger target and keeps Usyk from getting too close. The parts where he had success featured a lot of rights to the body, for a short time he looked to be finding a way to make Usyk uncomfortable. More of that, and just maybe Usyk wouldn't have had so much in the tank to pull away late.
But probably Usyk wins again, and easier.

Best chance for AJ is to come out firing on all cylinders, try & use his weight & power & try & rough usyk up & smother him,f**k boxing him that isnt going to work for AJ
Usyk will be prepared for whatever though & deal with him quicker

I think Usyk deserves a home coming fight doesn’t he, let them fight in Kiev.
How does the rematch clause work? Will Usyk have the majority say as champion Or is the ball still in Joshuas court?

I can see why people might say AJ should (eg) target the body more and earlier but I think that (and similar) advice is too superficial (for want of a better word). Basically I think his problems against Usyk are deeper than those that tactical tweaks could fix. Body shots don’t just present themselves against top boxers, you have to create them. Which goes back to the ring craft and skill where Usyk has such an advantage
I mean, people used to say the same sort of stuff about Floyd opponents, should have done more of X or Y, but how many of them would you bet would do better against Floyd in a rematch.
Rematches against fighters who always get better as fights go on and win the later rounds as theI work their opponents out- which describes a majority of Floyd and Usyks fights, by the way, often giving away early rounds and seldom giving them away after round 9- tend to favour them and not the other dude. Usyk has not only had time to work Joshua out (I don’t imagine it took long TBH), but the confidence to know he can hurt and deter Joshua with his shots.

My guess is eddie has control. i hate this rematch clause, Usyk was mandatory and im guessing team AJ just said "give us a rematch clause or we are dropping the belt" and usyk being a fornicating boss went "fine ill bash ya twice".
usyk should have the belts freely, if he wants to rematch AJ he should be able to negotiate location and splts freely. This rematch is everyhng wrong with rematch clauses. its gone from "to be the champ you gotta beat the champ" into "to be the champ you have to dominate the champ twice in a row and avoid being robbed"

I think whoever is the champion ought to be able to decide where they want to fight. Let Usyk defend the damn belts in his native country. Joshua and Hearn need to have some common decency when it comes to certain things.
I know if I was a world champion I'd want to stage a title match in my old hometown, even if that meant virtually no money involved, but in this day and age there's no excuse why you couldn't have a multi-million dollar payday staging a fight as the Triller events have demonstrated.

Usyk hasn't had a fight in Kiev since 2015. I actually hope he takes it into Kiev and properly takes AJ into the the lion's den.

London will be a home away from home for Usyk anyway. The reception he got post fight reminds me of when GGG was doing a workout ahead of the Brook fight. If GGG was supposed to be the away fighter nobody told the crowd.
Obviously it is different levels with AJ but I think Usyk will get a very warm welcome if he comes and fights back in Tottenham or Wembley

I'd hope he would, and he should. To be able to see true class is a rare blessing in life, people should appreciate it.
