"Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder TV price sparks fury among boxing fans"

Boxing fans have come together to slam the £24.95 pay-per-view price confirmed by BT Sport for the trilogy bout between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder next month

Boxing fans have slammed the latest pay-per-view price for Tyson Fury's trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder.

The pair will meet for the third time in Las Vegas on October 9, with the fight rescheduled after a coronavirus outbreak in the Briton's camp.

And Fury will be looking to produce the same dominant display that handed him a historic seventh-round stoppage defeat last time out.

But fans have questioned the price of the broadcast which is set at £24.95 for viewers in the UK in the early hours of the morning.

One fan posted on Twitter : "£25 is fine for 10pm main event but bit harsh for 4am when I'll probably sleep through."

Another said: "24.95 for a 5am PPV for a fight no one asked for?"

One said: "£25 for 4am fight. Only a fool is paying for this to see a 3rd fight that we already know the outcome."

Another also said: "Terrible fight and terrible price. Can’t compare this to the absolute special night we got from AJ. Hearn is levels above."

The prices of pay-per-views have often been criticised, with Sky Sports Box Office also charging the same price for Joshua's defeat to Usyk on Saturday night.

With it being a third clash between the pair, the fight has already been questioned with promoter Eddie Hearn blaming its initial cancellation on "poor ticket sales".

“There was no broadcaster in the UK announced. You know he has a contract with BT? They never announced the fight. They sold no tickets," he previously told the DAZN Boxing Show.

“Basically, you could go online and check. I don’t know whether it was 25% or 30% of the tickets have been sold, but that’s disastrous. There was no hype. This was going to do very, very poor pay-per-view numbers.

"The whole thing stank, it is so disjointed everywhere, you have about eight people working on the fight who don't like each other.

"It's very strange for them to say it's now happening in October, especially if Bob Arum is saying Fury was vaccinated."

Fury has now rejected the second coronavirus vaccination, to prevent any further disruption to the fight next month.

The best undercard of the year and since the pandemic emerged. Maybe even in several years. Undercards usually suck nowadays. This event has a bunch of competetive HW fights.

No way am I missing this card. Should be a great watch.

It's a bit cheaper for me in NZ (£18.50ish) but what an undercard!
My only concern is that they have a swing fight waiting in the dressing room.
So many HW fights on one card there are bound to be a few quick finishes.
So even if the main event is a quickie, I'm sure by then I will have had my HW fix

I'm buying it and staying up, the undercard is terrific and the Liverpool show earlier on DAZN is very good mostly 50/50 fights.

October 9th will be a special night of boxing

Who is on the undercard, I am not inclined to buy the main event, as I suspect it's going to be an early bath for Mr Wilder. Unless Fury's been on the racket the night before and balls deep in hot and cold running gypsy pussy.

Sanchez vs Ajagba is the one I want to see, and also wonder if Adam Kownacki can turn things around, even though I'm quietly cheering the viking
So 3 fairly decent (50/50 60/40 ish) heavyweight fights all on one card is excellent value in this day and age.

I find it so hard not to look up the results.

Yeah it's very tough going and I'm not that old. I haven't stayed up in years I don't think, possibly Fury Wilder II last time maybe before.

Dunno how I did it in prime Box-Nation years I was staying up til 6am twice a month for US cards at one point.

I don't envy you, it's a bit of a slog when there's so much.

If anything I would probably record some of it, and get up for the main event around 3./

This will be my first getting up early for a fight in Greece, except it's not really early, 7am. Can't wait tbh and my dad will be over here visiting too

I heard they were charging the same amount for the AJ fight.
While we are talking about it the Dazn fights are starting to look sketchy, the Joshua fight buffered so much I couldn't watch it live, happened in a Dillian Whyte fight too.
Can they deliver on the big one whatever that might be ?

Yes they had it up later and I could see everything but "Live" they dropped the ball big time.

Most of the English fight nights are live early Sunday mornings for me in NZ. So I tend to score them. The American fights are Sunday afternoons live and I usually have the beersies out and the score cards safely put away
