Janibek Alimkhanuly-Hassan N'Dam Set For Mayer-Hamadouche Undercard November 5

Janibek Alimkhanuly will face a second straight former WBA middleweight titleholder most known for upsetting Ryota Murata.

Boxing Scene has learned that the emerging 160-pound contender has agreed to face France’s Hassan N’Dam in a 10-round bout November 5 in Las Vegas. The Alimkhanuly-N’Dam match will be the co-feature before ESPN+ streams a 10-round main event in which Mikaela Mayer and Maiva Hamadouche will square off for Mayer’s WBO and Hamadouche’s IBF women’s junior lightweight titles from Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.

Alimkhanuly, a Kazakhstan native who lives and trains in Oxnard, California, dominated former WBA world middleweight champion Rob Brant in his most recent fight.

Alimkhanuly (10-0, 6 KOs) dropped Brant during the sixth round and was ahead 80-71 on all three scorecards through eight rounds on the Vasiliy Lomachenko-Masayoshi Nakatani undercard June 26 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. Brian McIntyre, Brant’s trainer, stopped their scheduled 10-rounder before the ninth round began three months ago.

The 28-year-old Alimkhanuly’s stoppage of Dallas’ Brant (26-3, 18 KOs) marked the fourth straight bout he has won by knockout or technical knockout.

Seventeen months before Brant beat Murata, the 37-year-old N’Dam (38-5, 21 KOs) surprisingly defeated him in their first fight for Murata’s secondary WBA 160-pound championship in May 2017.

Japan’s Murata (16-2, 13 KOs) rebounded by defeating N’Dam convincingly in their immediate rematch. That one-sided 12-rounder was stopped following the seventh round five months later.

N’Dam out-pointed England’s Martin Murray by majority decision in the 12-round fight following his loss to Murata.

His next appearance didn’t unfold nearly as well. England’s Callum Smith, then the unbeaten WBA super middleweight champion, demolished N’Dam in one of the Cameroon-born boxer’s few fights at that division’s limit of 168 pounds in June 2019.

N’Dam defeated Hungarian journeyman Gabor Gorbics (26-21-2, 16 KOs) on points in his most recent action, an eight-rounder that took place July 2.

The real question is how many times will N'Dam hit the canvas before the end of the fight? I will go with 4 KDs at least.

Dude is definitely going to be avoided if this is the best fight he can get at the moment. Lara moved up last I remember. Both of them have nothing to lose as either can't draw flies. By the way, where is Andrade who was last talking about top fighters ducking him and hounding Canelo for a pay day? Why doesn't he line up to fight this hungry undefeated contender?

I'm using this as the main thread for the card.

The main event will be Mayer's title defence.

Is this fight still on the undercard?
