Seems like an easy win for Tank. Rolly will get his first L
In the main event, the former three-division world champion Tank Davis (25-0, 24 KOs) is fighting the biggest puncher of his career in 24-year-old Rolly Romero (14-0, 12 KOs). It’s believed the fight will take place at 140 rather than 135.
Some boxing fans that aren’t familiar with the hard-hitting Romero believe this is a cherry-pick for Tank, but it’s the best opponent of his career.
Some boxing fans won’t be happy about having to pay to see Gervonta battle Rolly on Showtime pay-per-view, but they’re going to have to open their wallets if they want to see Tank fight. He’s now a PPV fighter, so every fight he has will be on pay-per-view now.
This is not even close to being a cherry-pick for Gervonta because Romero has the punching power to win at any point in the fight. At 5’8″, Rolly Romero will have a significant size advantage over the 5’5 1/2″ Tank Davis, and he’s capable of using his size.
Rolly may not have accomplished as much as Leo Santa Cruz, but he’s bigger, younger, and stronger than him. Up to this point, Santa Cruz is the best name on Gervonta’s eight-year record.
