Thomas could outbox Ruddock behind the jab. And most likely he would. Pinky had a one of the best jabs on the HW scene of the 80s, he could box well. Yet he could be caught. Ruddock definitely had a lesser arsenal in comparison to Thomas, but he could bang for sure. He would make Pinky feel his power, but more often than not Thomas should be victorious in this matchup.
