I often hear how this guy is an great fighter but underrated. That he gave Usyk his toughest fight yet and closest (although consensus seems to be it was a clear win for Usyk) often hear people tell me this guy is a dog in the ring.I havnt watched much of him. Does he have a chance against someone like Okolie?

He gave Usyk his toughest fight, and he beat Dorticos with ease. I think that pretty much speaks for itself. The bad part about Briedis is that he's not afraid to fight dirty. The dude is an absolute SOB in the ring. Nailed Glowacki with a dirty elbow, and he hugged Mike Perez all night in their fight.

100%, if he's not disinterested, he'd beat Okolie. I don't think Briedis is at his strongest when he has to fight on the front-foot, so I think maybe Mchunu might be his toughest fight stylistically. Also, Mike Perez gave him a lot of problems, and he hugged his way to a boring decision. With a stricter judge, I have to wonder how that fight would've gone.

I've not seen Briedis since he beat Dorticos, though. I don't even remember if I saw his fight against Noel Grevor, which I remember was a controversial decision.

he is one of these guys who looks better vs better opposition, rises to the occasion. i have no doubt he's far better than gevor but he easily couldve lost that decision. yet then right after that he blows out glowacki in 3 and beats dorticos 9-3. and he defo gave usyk his toughest fight, including hurting him in the 12th. easily beat huck too.

as said he does whatever it takes to get an advantage, including elbows and holding, the later of which led to an awful fight vs perez


he has a pretty good mix of boxing skills, with good timing, and can throw quick short counters that have pop on them. one of the better uppercuts in the game, as manny charr sure knows. good chin and i cant recall seeing him hurt.

as for okolie, that long lanky dude is going to give anyone problems at cruiser, but for sure briedis would have a chance to win, probably would be the favourite. i think MB should give heavy a run though, it's now or never. he was supposed to fight marius wach, but i think he then signed with wasserman, and then settled on the fight with mann.

i feel like usyk vs briedis for unified hw title would be kinda a 'f@ck you' from the cruiser division to the heavies

I’d say he is elite, but probably fading so soon he will be just “very good”

Quite possibly the 2nd or 3rd best 200lb era cruiser.
