Fox extends its deal with the PBC!

Kevin Idec is reporting that Fox has extended their deal with the PBC for an extra year.
There were previously rumours of the PBC leaving Fox to align themselves with CBS.
Thoughts?

Pretty unexpected considering the PBC cards on Fox this year have been utterly atrocious, to the point where it seemed like PBC was just running out the clock on the deal as cheaply as possible.
Maybe it's due to the success of the Fury/Wilder PPV?

already reported this.. not shocking..
They probably thought why not.
One more year can’t hurt.
Slap a few PPV’s.. possibly Crawford-Spence.
Boxing is the only sport, though PPV that actually makes broadcasts any money.

Ten months ago Fox was performing a cost-cutting exercise, which led to widespread media speculation of them terminating their deal with the PBC early.
However, Fox Sports still needs to broadcast sporting content and so they’ve decided to extend their deal with the PBC for an extra year.
I don’t think the contract extension really changes things much.
In terms of 2022, Fox will happily continue regularly covering “cheap” low-profile PBC shows (roughly every fortnight), as long as they’re also able to cover two or three PPV events per year (as per Arreoal-Ruiz Jr. & Pacquiao-Ugas).
If Fox are happy with this arrangement… and let’s face it, they’ve already agreed to extend their deal… then they’re likely to continue their partnership with the PBC from 2023onwards.
And Let’s not forget that Fox are responsible for the quality of the shows they cover. They not only sanction the bouts, but they also fund them.
So if they want bigger viewing figures, they need to invest in stacked cards.

No thoughts if it's the same garbage fights.

I dunno what you mean when you say Fox "sanctions" fights. That's something local athletic commissions do, not TV networks.
I wonder if they pay a flat rate or if a separate price is negotiated for every card. Because the 2021 cards were absolutely horrible.

Showtime seem to be covering a lot of PBC events recently.
Have Fox used all their dates this year?

There’s been a lot of boxing of Fox between April and September, but nothing since.
The next four PBC events are all on Showtime.
My guess is that Fox have already used their dates for 2021.

Sorry, I was responding to your post you submitted four days ago. I interpreted your question to mean you weren't aware of the event.
