one sided losses that were avenged

murata-brant came up on the side of the youtube bar today
brant dominates the first fight, absolutely lighting murata up and winning almost every round
but then murata destroys him in 2 in the rematch
what are cases where a guy lost a fight one sided, but then won a rematch?

Holly Holm vs Anne Sophie Mathis

gets kayoed in the first fight, gets written off, and wins the rematch.

It was an early stoppage, but Brian Rose beat Carson Jones comfortably on points after being stopped in the first round in the first meeting.

Think Lewis was up on all the cards when he got put to kip.

Getting put to sleep is a pretty clear loss

That is true, so maybe it doesn't fit into Mag's OP

the ko was big but the fight itself wasnt one sided, what i had in mind were fights where one guy showed general dominance or just basically blew him out quick, but then the rematch the other guy won
a close fight that ends with a big ko has a different dynamic for a rematch than a dominant win, does. i think generally its easier to see how the guy in the close fight can adjust than it is for the dominated guy
but it still does happen

witherspoon- bonecrusher
timmy wins wide first fight, then crusher kos him in 1 the rematch
although this rematch is notorious for rumors that witherspoon threw the fight to get away from king. not sure if thats true at all, people love to make excuses for spoon and his 'off' nights

Was going to mention that one, but was thinking about getting blown out of the first fight only to come back and win the second.

Norton/Garcia
A bit of time between fights, but Garcia had norton wobbling around the ring from the first round.

I agree getting put to sleep is conclusive but the OP asked for one sided losses that were avenged.

Seth Mitchell v Johnathan (sic) Banks.
Made some money on their first fight. Lost on the rematch. Couldn't see anything other than a repeat in that rematch. Never overestimate Banks. Very frustrating.

Pat Cowdell getting blitzed in one round versus Najib Daho, in the rematch Pat beat Najib by 9th round stoppage.

I'm trying to think of a dominant points win for a boxer, but then table turned in a rematch and the loser of the first one wins wide points decision.
Would Ali v Fraser 1 and 2 qualify?

I don't think either I or II was dominant.

Good example, Williams and Harrison too.
