Missed the Boxing due to being at work

Anyone know if they are going to repeat it at some point? And who did the actual commentary?

I think only showing 3 fights (one 12 rds, one 6 and one ko2) in three hours meant it seemed to drag. They should have prerecorded some of the remaining undercard.

Bravo? You guys must be talking about a different Bravo channel than the one I'm thinking about.
The Bravo channel I know almost only plays Inside the Actors Studio, Columbo, and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy... I can't imagine them having boxing.

Enjoyed it, few tweaks needed here and there but only teething problems.
I think having Ash on from Sin Cities was cool he certainly adds some charisma into the presentation.
I wonder when the next one is?

The Lynes fight was ok though a predictable hometown decision as for the presenters AAAAAHHHHH!!!... where's Bunce!... that guy with the skinhead haircut made me start missing Bunce and as for the girl, she looked ok but knew less about boxing than my 2 year old nephew!!!.
Whats wrong with getting presenters that actually know something about the sport theyre talking about!.... :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

I watched a few bits of it this morning, how annoying was that stupid talentless cow on the microphone? They way she was pissing around with Lynes before his fight was out of order and showed a complete lack of respect or understanding IMO. You'd think it was a game of ping-pong the way that dizzy tart was carrying on.
Apart from that I'd give it a big thumbs up for a first effort from Bravo.

Good team of Bremmer (or Bremley as Ed Hall called him), McAuley, Woodhall and Oliver. I thought it was a little disrepectful having Big Frank as a celebrity and not with the likes of Oliver.
Just please get rid of the two presenters - the poor experts at one stage were looking at each other for inspiration because the presenter clearly didn't give two shits about being there.
It makes it more frustrating because apart from them I really enjoyed the show and in some respects was better than Sky (the segments before when the fighters were talking).
Here are some quotes that I picked up from these two talented presented
"Yeah (In a suprising tone of voice) I actually enjoyed watching that fight" - Sarah Cawood on the Rob Reid fight.
"Now, we are going to look at a punch from Reid" - Expert analysis from Hall.
"Now we are going to look at a cut" - Again Hall.
It was a controvesial decision (to say the least) but it was only glossed over because Hall and Cawood didn't have a clue what they were talking about. Adam Smith / Ed Robinson etc would have been really at Lynes/Hearn about this.
As I said its a shame, because for the most part it was refreshing and good - As being said, Bremmer is excellent and worked well with Both Oliver and McAuley.
I've always liked Paul Dempsey as a presenter and you can now see how much of a good job he does - He's the best anchor in the business, but there are lots of better contendors than these two - Dominic Hollier, Steve Bunce, Ron MacIntosh, could they even lure the legendary Harry Carpenter back.

Really enjoyed thought we would see some prerecorded fights as well but even saying that the 3 hours passed faster than with Sky. The two presenters should go though. They didnt even bother to learn the boxers names.

Commentary was superb as were experts just those two muppets. Big thumbs up to bravo for showing boxing hometown decision spoiled the night but that wasnt bravos fault. So many fights I see on tv go to the boxer who has most fans its becoming a joke. Also is the ibo part of wbo or am I getting mixed up?

I just sent an email off to Bravo, urging them to get rid of the two presenters, but congratulating them for showing live boxing.

lets cut to the chase, how did Reid look? Sharp, or shot?

Reid was a little soft looking by his standards but he was sharp enough on the backfoot. Woodhall & co tried to make out that a few years ago Reid would have stopped the guy but I don't believe that, he's never been a legitimate banger.

Hmm, don't agree with that. Although not a knockout artist, Reid has always been very heavy handed.

Domestically of course Reid can hit, but once he goes anywhere near the top level his punches make very little impression on their own.

I actually thought Reid looked quite good considering his age and inactivity. Never been a fan, and don't think he could win a major world title at this weight (unless circumstances / champions change). However, he looked quite sharp and landed some lovely combinations on the counter.

I thought that the commentary was fine, but the presenters (introducers), were like something from childrens telly. Especially the simpering bint.

Both were as bad as each other.

Dave McCauley was arguably worse than the part-time presenters.
His first contribution?
'Robin Reid's not get any younger, it gets harder the older you get and I think he should think about packing it in...'
Brilliant.
And dont get me started on him thinking a 100 fights is a world record;
'Cesar Chavez fought 80 odd times, but a 100, he should be in the Guiness book of records, its unheard of.'
Erm......Roberto Duran, SRR, Archie Moore, Sandy Saddler, Armstrong, Loughran, Rosenbloom, Pep, Wilde, JCC, Olivares.....Peter Buckley?
Dave McAuley was a great fighter and clearly knows more about the sport than me, that goes without saying, but his performance in front of the camera as an analyst last night was awful.

Yes, although how good would McCory etc be without Bob Mee by their side.
It does seem at times that McAuley doesn't follow the game alot, but he is coherent talker who understands the sport. His analysis of the Lynes fight was pretty good - as it was with the McCullough fight the night before. Its a bit like when Sky bring in John Conteh - clearly doesn't follow the sport, he said RJJ was the best fighter ever and then said he never seen him fight (this was the RJJ vs Gonzales bill). However, he can sense the ebbs and flows of the game, just needs a bit of research or a researcher/statistision on hand.
The funniest bit of analysis involving Conteh was when he changed his prediction on Holyfield vs Moorer II following Channel Five showing one of those HBO type segments of their first meeting. Before that he was all "Holyfield beat Tyson and is a great champion, he will win". After that it was "I never realised Holyfield took such a beating and had a hard time with Southpaws, looking at that I see Moorer winning again".
Clearly hadn't watched any other fight other than Holyfield vs Tyson.

Yes, there's a difference between a professional presenter/journalist, who whilst they may know less about the actualy mechanics of fighting are going to be much more versed in the current scene. A lot of fighters lose interest in the sport once they stop fighting themselves, aside from following the careers of their friends etc.
