Why is Charlo a good fight? Beterbiev is the best fight. Then you got Bivol, Ramirez. Joe Smith Jr at a push. Benavidez the only non Light Heavy you could make a case for.

Maybe bc Charlito likes to talk crap and that would add extra hype. Lots of people would want to see Charlito KO'ed by Canelo. Charlito would be a nice but overrated scalp-win on Canelo's resume.

Indeed Beterbiev, Bivol, Ramirez and Joe are tougher fights for Canelo. But, hey , Canelo is a small-stocky fighter. It's ok if he stays at 168.

Canelo has no need to fight 160 pounders. I'd say fight Benavidez at 168 to have the opportunity to defend all 4 belts for the first time and then move up to 175.

None of the current Supper middles or middles deserve a shot or the payday. It would be rewarding the cherry pickers and padded records.

Canelo wanted to unify 168lbs.

Saunders held a title at 168lbs and a decent following in the UK. He had two things to offer Canelo.

Charlo doesn't have a title at 168lbs and doesn't attract sizable audience figures.

Canelo has worn Charlo's WBC middleweight crown on two occasions. He’s already been there, done that and bought the T-shirt!

At some point or other, Canelo (twice), Golovkin (twice), Lemieux, Khurtsidze, Andrade and Eubank Jr. have all previously either declined opportunities to face Saunders or expressed their disinterest in facing the Brit or withdrew from bouts that Billy Joe had signed-up for.

In the last five years, Jermall Charlo has only engaged in four legitimate world title bouts at middleweight. He hasn't done anything else.

He has never competed at 168lbs. Charlo’s entire reputation at 160lbs is built on the Derevyanchenko victory, with the Russian having only won one bout within the last 44 months.

In the last five years, Billy Joe Saunders won three world title bouts at 160lbs and was engaging in his fourth 168lbs world championship fight when he faced Canelo.

This is all basic stuff that you should know.
