Not particularly. I will watch it though, more as a curiosity than anything else.

If he actually had a promoter that gave a f@uk about him more than himself he would never of been sent up 2 divisions to face an absolute monster and f@ck his eye socket up

He was beating Errol Spence before his eye socket went in that fight

If his career had been handled differently he had the potential to be arguably one of the greatest UK fighters ever p4p

Welter weight was red hot for most of his career so multiple classic world title fights were there too be made to create a legacy

What a wasted career he ended up having

Will likely still watch it just for something to do but its all a bit of an embarassment

They're both damaged goods with big names, the winner fights Conor Benn for another huge pay day.

I think Kell was never a big seller, that's why his promoters threw him in with GGG, which turned out to be almost a career ending fight. He was never the same after that.

I'm not sure Kell was really ever that great though, decent skills, but too one paced to be a great.

He also did 10,000 against Matthew Hatton.

He was promoted really well initially but suffered with the crap quality of the IBF’s mandatories pre Spence, a bit of inactivity and then all involved got too confident and put him in with Golovkin (which from memory sold out the O2).

Post Spence he’s just been far too inactive and just been making decisions for money. It’s a shame as I thought he could have made a proper run at light-middle.

He was behind on all 3 score cards before the KO.

He was doing really well vs GGG before his face broke, but it's certainly no shame to have the 3 losses he's got on his record. All vs quality opposition.

I meant more, he wasn't really a big PPV attraction.

I think early in his career there was a lot of noise, he was pretty high profile, but the last 5 years of his career he managed to fight 7 times.

His career post Shawn Porter was a real mess.

I do also wonder how much motivation Brook seemed to have late in his career, maybe he earned enough that he just didn't really give a shit. You can't blame him for taking on GGG, it was a wee bit mental as he had zero pedigree at 160, but why wouldn't you, but a short notice fight? Sounds a bit suicidal, and proved to be so for his career, as he sustained a very serious injury.

I disagree. For a wasted career look at the likes of Frankie Gavin and to a lesser extent Kevin Mitchell. Both of those two had arguably more talent than Brook as they were coming through the unpaid ranks. Both were wrecked by their issues and lifestyle outside the ring.

Brook had a multitude of problems outside the ring yet still became a legitimate world champion and made a good few defences. he also made himself a millionaire and has financially secured his family for life. Yes of course his legacy could have been so much more.......but in terms of a wasted career....... of course not.

Just rewatching the GGG fight, Kell really did give it a go, you can see the eye was injured early in round 3, GGG came out of the traps like a whippet, he was all over him from the bell, but Kell fought back pretty well towards the end of the round.

It's odd with Golovkin, he doesn't look like a murderous puncher, he's very compact in his style, but he clearly generates tremendous force, as he caved in Saunders face and Kell's eye, and has minced up lots of challenges over the years.

Frankie Gavin is probably the best example of someone who did practically nothing with their careers and had bags of talent.

Some people just haven't got the right wiring to apply themselves to make the most of their talents.

Kell, trust me, is a rough kid who liked his nights out. Could have been more dedicated.
