Yea also the star ratings are just for the "importance" of the overall bout, so you can't tell which fighter was the favorite or more highly rated at the time of the bout. It's not remotely as useful.

John, will you please remove the cap on the number of boxers that can be followed on the Watchlist. :brick: :brick:

Please incorporate fights shown on ProBoxTV for fights shown on media schedule.

Does this site violate any Boxrec copyright or trademarks? I thought it was some ridiculous subsection of Boxrec for a moment.

This has ended as a 10-round decision but only two are scorable and "?" still stays as rounds fought.

Yes, this is the key. It's almost impossible now to see how a fighter's career played out over the years which was by far my favorite thing to do on this site. Have we even gotten a reason as to why they removed this and intentionally made the site worse?

No, there's been zero communication about why it was done or whether it can be changed back.

People ragged on the point system sometimes, but I think the site's a hell of a lot less interesting without it.

1. Why can you only follow 10 boxers? This was a feature I used heavily in order to follow prospects etc, see what their next fights were, now it's useless. There doesn't seem to be any logical reasoning behind this change?

2. Why did you stop numbering the fights on a fighter's page? Another pointless and annoying omission, when it was interesting to see at what number fight a certain fight in a career was

3. Why do we have to enter the ridiculous recaptcha information at EVERY point on entering the website.

I love this site, but it's ALWAYS made worse with changes

That feature stopped in 2017, it was one of my suggestions years back to have the bouts numbered so I was annoyed it was removed. When I asked why it stopped they said it's because most people view the site on a mobile device now, previously it was mainly via a desktop PC, and the numbering didn't display properly on mobile phones so they had to remove it.

The fact that there has been no communication whatsoever is the annoying part to me. I know some of the editors have posted here, but they have limited knowledge about why certain changes were made. Apparently, nothing has been communicated down to them.

Is there any oversight for preventing or fixing troll scoring on this site? This could be (if not already is, I'm not sure) a problem of validity moving forward, especially if the suggestion of using said fan scores for training judges becomes a reality

https://fightnews.com/wbc-59th-conventi ... ore-124233
Scoring is also tracked on the site, a.k.a. “Judging the judges.” The site features options for round scoring, which can be used to train judges, as well as the public and also post event reporting and analytics.

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec Remove the cap on followed fighters

Post by niklay »

Idk why you added a cap of 10 followed fighters, I personally love to add fighters to my list that I might see on an undercard, a fighter I probably won't hear of their next fight, especially if they don't have a twitter.
With the follow function here on BoxRec I can always stay up to date with all the fights of fighters I wanna see(I check my followed list weekly to stay up to date), please remove the cap so I and many others can continue to add fighters to our list.

The date section should go back to the old layout. When you searched a particular date, you got to see a list of each fight listed under the events for that day. Now you just see a list of venues and you have to view each individual event to see what fights are on it.

How is there still no feedback on the number of fighters you can follow at a time?
This was such a step backwards...

It's most likely a bug, I can't see why they would limit the amount of fighters you can follow. It's weird that it has been like this for a while now. Hopefully one of the developers come here to see the feed back. I have been wanting to follow several new fighters I discovered recently but can't follow them here so I have to add the page as a bookmark as a workaround.
