He has obviously outgrown lightweight (like Errol Spence has outgrown welter, but that's another story), and he apparently is no longer focused or hungry as he was prior to facing Loma. If he decides to move up to 140 lbs I don't see him beating anybody in the top 10. He should stay far far away from Josh Taylor, Regis Prograis and Tank Davis. Perhaps he will retire and ride off into the sunset. He's made $millions and doesn't seem to have blown it like most champion boxers.

I think he could handle Tank at 140. Taylor would probably school him but that’s a good fight. Honestly I think he beats Prograis. He gave Kam a heck of a fight. Not like he quit on the stool or totally gave up. Ran completely out of gas.

Edit: and maybe we’re underrating Kambo too. He was extremely fast and accurate, and his punches broke Teo’s nose, dropped him, and sliced him.

Danny would make most cash, but you have to ask if that's in Danny's interests too, he would definitely be the shot caller.
Teo has to either rebuild or take what he can get. Coming off a loss devalues you unless your fan base is strong.
And as we heard the cheers for Teo at the ring walk last night, we also heard the cheers changing for George mid way though, and the boos for Teo after the fight.

He will go up to 140, fight at least one, maybe two " carefully chosen opponents" then look for a title shot.

Danny Garcia is a welterweight who after losing to Spence is considering moving up to 154lbs. Ryan Garcia is still on the shrink's couch. Who knows when or if he will box again. And I don't think he would take a fight at 140lbs against the recent undisputed lightweight champ in his first fight back, especially since he hasn't fought any top guys at lightweight. I would mind seeing Teo fight Mikey Garcia. Loser retires.

If Danny goes up to 154 then poor him. He should go back down to 140. A win over Teo is the perfect way to rebuild his career or a loss can be a good way to cash out.

Prograis is on the same level as Taylor. If they had a trilogy right now it would be one win each and one draw. Prograis would fold Lopez in half with body shots, he hits way harder than Kambosos, and is as tough.

Very good point Tony. Teo had a speed advantage against the older Loma that he simply didn’t have against Kambo.

You can be outboxed and also run out of gas at the same time. I don’t disagree that Kambosos outboxed him. Like I said he was surprisingly the faster fighter and was routinely catching Teo with a really well timed right hand. He was also hitting him with the jab at weird angles and flying in with an awkward left hook. It was a great performance. I take nothing from him. But I don’t think it would be the same result at 140, and I think Teo will be a dangerous fighter at 140. He’s young and very talented.

At no point in that fight was Loma outboxed. The first half of the fight very little happened. The second half of the fight it was mostly Loma having success, stunning Teo at times. Loma started too late. I had it a draw.

Unbelievable.

The hard for Teo is that the fighters at 140 do what Kambosos does but even better.

Kam gave him fits with speed, funky angles and timing. Taylor is like a better version of Kam. And Prog is basically all angles but with power.

None of it may matter if the weight drain was the big factor. But I suspect the fighters at 140 may give him trouble.

Teo has loads of natrual tallent but needs a real coach and real corner men. Then he needs a few fights in the 30th-5th in the world range, just to get use to the new set up. He can move to 140 and keep doing what he is doing and be excelent, But to be all time great material and plow through 140 and 147 i think he needs to ditch his dad.

Looked like Teo got emotional and couldn't reboot himself once he lost track.
All kinds of fights left for him but he's gotta get back to being a pro mentally in the ring and not lose his sh_t.
He lost his shape, lacked a B and C plan and needs to circle the wagons and have a team talk with his people.

lopez just isnt as good as he thinks or should I say thought he was - too much BS hype and slagging off others like Josh Taylor .

Teo looked fine to me.
He looked physically the bigger and stronger fighter.
He lost his way and couldn't get back on track.
Look at Kambosos talking to him after the fight, words cut deep with Teo and it effected his performance and his ability to even break bread with his opponent after the contest.
Says a lot about Teo, but he's in the early stages of a long career, one minute he's toppling Lomachenko the next he's being split decisioned by Kambosos.

nowhere. hes had 17 fights ,mostly against poor opponents, and he already has a face like a hundred fight journeyman. If he fought prograis he would end up looking like the elephant man.
hes big and strong and will always have a punchers chance, but at top level he eats punches. haney and stevenson would cut him to ribbons, but dont need him now anyway as he holds no cards.
I think it was telling that the judges scored the fight fairly.....if they hadnt pissed arum off with their diva like behaviour, he wouldve made sure that he got a hometown decision and held onto his titles

No excuses. Teo's struggles with his weight were heavily discussed by the media during fight week.

I can easily provide lots of links to articles from various media sources proving this.

In fact, anyone that knows how to use Google can find them within seconds.

I'm not intentionally undermining Kambosos' fine victory, but no one can seriously pretend that Teo wasn't weight drained and that it wasn't being discussed during fight-week.

And don’t forget, there’s two ways you can perceive the situation, either Kambosos defeated a weakened Lopez, or Teofimo’s lack of discipline to manage his own weight caused his own demise.

It's up to you whether you agree with the former or the latter, but regardless, you can’t seriously pretend that Teo's issues with his weight weren't heavily-discussed by the media during fight week.
