What an absolute rip-off is the Main Event pay-per-view between Paul Gallen versus Darcy Lussick on 22nd December.

This epic will fought over three two-minute rounds at the request of Lussick, and the promoters agreed.

Even the prelim boys go four three-minute rounds and the girls, four two-minute rounds.

The rest of this padded card features a mixture of has-been NRL players and bouts that are lesser in content to the previous night's Foxtel card.

gotta tell you mate I went to the Gallen/ Hall fight, but it was a prelim to the two Maloney boys. Which made sense to me. But to pay for this card with no legit world rated fighter? yeah Nah. I'm sure DAZN will have something to tickle my fancy

Gallen, Hodges, Darcy Lussick, big Joey Leilua, heighenton, Freddy Lussick, taylan may, Ross.... Thats 8 NRL players, they all make/made 200,000-1,000,000+ a year to play footy, boxings kinda shits and giggles but you still gotta pay them.

I cant see many boxing fans paying and sitting down to watch. But i can see a few groups of NRL fans chippin in 10 bucks for the PPV, getting on the beers and yelling at the TV. (still wont do good numbers). They will also likely make a lot of money of venues, pubs pay 1000 bucks for shit like this just to shut up old bitching locals saying "why dont ya have the gallen fight"...

No I wouldn't. I have been watching boxing for more than fifty years and I wouldn't watch it if it was free.

Wait is this really 3 x 2s? 3 x 3s for a main event is a disgrace but 3x2s is madness. needs to be at least a 6 rounder. dont mind Gallen having a 3 rounder but he cant headline it.

Gallen vs sonny bill has to happen next year. would be a genuine mega fight in aus/NZ. this is just a loss buryer i guess.

give this "main event" regular time and ten rounds. i would not pay for this the way it is set up now

Not a fan of Gallen.

Its a shame because he is in a position to actually do some good instead of milking the public for profit.

He could fight for charity. He could take the opportunity to promote young talent and actually pay them enough to progress forward.

Rugby is Rugby Union. All of these blokes plat Rugby League, a different game.
