Lomachenko is getting praise for his wins over Nakatani and Commey. Ok it was impressive display of boxing skills. But lets be real those guys are not very top fighters. Few years ago, i was favoring Loma over Davis, Garcia or Haney. Today, not so much. Is this guy at his prime at age of 34 ?

Haney close decision over Lomachenko

On the other side i think Davis will KO Haney and Garcia. Styles makes fights. But i am not good at predicting fights lol

Loma is operating at a division higher than he would be best in, and has loads of miles on the clock.

However, he is still only 34 and always kept himself in great shape; his style is pure skills, not that of someone relying on sharp reflexes or brute toughness.

I`d say he is still in his prime, although on that razor edge of sliding into decline.

The manner in which he lost to Lopez is still strange - I`d favour Loma in a return next year. He would be too smart for Haney and Garcia, and outclass Tank. But time is definitely ticking, and 2023 would be a whole different set of results against those 4.

Yes, he is. This fight wasn't much different from the ones against Linares or Campbell. Bring on Kambo, Loma will handle him too.

I think Loma is gonna be more prepared and wise from now.

The Teo fight (for me anyway) came down to it being a natural featherweight against a Jr Middle. Teo was just too big. He'll be bigger than most jR WWs.

People exaggerate this situation. It looked like Loma simply had fun with Commey and his corner and he just decided not to take risks after breaking the opponent down.

He beats Tank, Haney and Kambosos for me. I don't think any of them will want to fight him though.

Agree with him lacking that finishing instinct, he really needs a big name next to get up for it. Even Shakur Stevenson perhaps.

Tank poses very little threat to Loma.
It would be 12 rounds of Tank fruitlessly chasing Loma around the ring getting picked off at will. Hard to watch.
When asked about all the other top 135 guys, Tank is the one Loma has the least respect for, and so he should because Tank hasn't fought any one at 135 worth noting.

Is he still in his prime? No

BTW: Did you notice Commey's reaction to Loma's spin to the right in round 11 or 12? He smiled widely afterwards almost as if to say, "How the f did you do that?"

Loma last night was throwing combinations as fast as anyone at 135.
He took a few flush right hands from a guy with an 80%+ KO rate.
He was still fresh in round 12, after a pretty full on fight where he started a lot earlier than his usual.

So no, I don't think he is past prime.

He is where he is.
Maybe not, but the money is at LW which makes him all the more special to be doing what he does and at 34.
He could slide off a cliff between now and his next fight. It happens all the time with the little guys. For now he is the best non champion in not just 135 but all of boxing

He is past his prime, doesn't throw the cork screw punch with his lead hand anymore most likely because of his shoulder.

Something not as crisp about him last night, even in decline I see the possibility of some more big wins out of him and the potential for some un even performances like when Holyfield got old around the age of 38..

Loma will decline faster than holyfield in age due to the smaller weight class.

Guy is an awesome fighter, and an original like announcer said last night he has imagination...

I’d say he is past prime but not far past it. For me Basicaly his true prime ended when his shoulder went.

He's still in his prime. He wasn't really able to get all the fights he wanted, but when he did, he went 1-2. People need to remember that the Walters and Commeys of the divisions aren't Lopez. Dude was so scared of that power that he went negative for 6 rounds.

Not sure, what points at Loma being past it. Commey is about the same as Campbell, a solid top guy with championship claims, but not enough to be the man, and Loma handled him about the same easy, nearly with the same scenario of the fight as it had been with Luke.

My eyes told me that Lomachenko is still very capable, but almost certainly less impressive than his heyday.

A fighter on the cusp of turning 34 years of age delivering a performance that is less impressive than his prime, proves they’re no longer in their prime.

Two words that helps provide context: Richard Commey.
