The USA's Reggie Strickland has had about 357 and counting I don't know of anotheer active fighter who has had more.

Past Boxer Len Wickwar had 464 fights between 1928-1947 an amazing record, In 1932 boxing 50 times and 1933 49 times. Talk about being hardcore.

Wickwar fought a lot of guys 3-6 times. He aslo took on 3 different guys is the same night, beating them all. Impressive.

always makes me chuckle when classic boxing fans bang on about the ammount of fights classic boxers had yet how would the media and fans react to someone like hoopkins, mayweather morales etc.. fighting a fighter thats 0-0-0 in their30th, 35th, 40th fight and so on.

The 0-0-0 fighters most likely haven't had their records entered yet.

Or maybe they all decided to retire after making their pro debut against Len Wickwar.

I see he got disqualified against Jackie Berg, be interesting to know what happen there.

Dundee must have had an increadible chin he lost 60 of his 343 fights but was only knocked out twice. He was a true great (as was britton) but could have been even greater had he been blessed wth more power.

Yeah sorry that's what i meant wickwar had the most these two are second and third. But i suppose Strickland has now surpassed these two which is a shame in someways as Britton and Dundee were both hall of famers and wickwar had a good record. Not that I dond't have respect for boxrec favorite Reggie

I'd be more iclined to say the 0-0-0 fighter were at best club fighters performing exhibitions, at best they are 3-5-1 (random fight record) fighters in the ring in order for the local crowd to see the "champions" showcase their skills.

Also - a lot of the fellas had fights in the booths. Where does exhibition end and pro fight start?

Booth fights were fought in two different ways, first in the way that they came to be famous for and mistakenly known!

1) Fighters taking on 'all-comers' from the local public, the fair ground audience...
2) The "Pro's" who toured with the Booth's or showed up at the Booth's would fight 'ligitimate' recorded payed but UNSANCTIONED Pro fights against one another! This is how so many British fighters fought 200 and 300 recorded but UNSANCTIONED Pro fights and in some cases many more

This became such a problem for the BBB of C. that they eventually put a BAN on Pro's fighting in these Unsanctioned events (1947), without them first collecting their dues ($) from fighters and Booth proprietors alike, that any Pro's found to be taking part in such events "could" lose their Boxing Licience.

Historians claim that this was the beginning of the eventual 'demise of the Famous British Boxing Booths... Bert Gilroy for example fought a reported 238 'recorded' Pro fights with just 29 losses and a further 300 or more 'booth' fights against all-comers (the Fair ground public), this was done by almost ALL of the British fighters in those days.
