IMO Tyson by early KO,what your opinions?

Tyson would KO Dokes at some point. Dokes was hittable enough, while his best game was offensive. He wouldn't be able to outbox Tyson, he would be caught in the exchanges.

I thought the same outcome Dr. Duke as Tyson would overwhelm Dokes with his swarming along with slip jab, combinations to the body and head before knocking Dokes out in either 5 or 6 rounds.

I'm a man who is all about the particulars are we talking prime versus prime or are we talking the prime Dokes against a green or post-prime Tyson?

Dokes is one of those tragedies in boxing in which he could have really been something had it not been for alcohol and drugs. His showdown with Evander Holyfield was probably the last really good performance that he put on, and that was after a well-known stint with drugs and alcohol.

I think he would have put up a competitive fight with Tyson, but ultimately would have gotten caught. I'm going to say Tyson, in his prime, stops prime Dokes somewhere around the 10th.

Shell of a Dokes gave Holyfield all he could handle in 1989.

Fastest hands in the west, good boxing IQ and could take a shot too.

If Dokes had developed a little more, he could win this. One of the few fighters Tyson would have to look up to in handspeed. Though his power was really overrated. Lesser fighters have lasted the distance with Iron Mike, so I would say, after the first 3 rounds, with Michael having a slight edge, Tyson takes over and with him doing more down the stretch, takes a unanimous decision.

I disagree with your assessment of Tyson's power. During Tyson's prime, the only guys who lasted the distance against him were those who ran endlessly, or those who constantly clinched and wrestled. In both cases, the opponents completely stopped trying to win and focused only (even desperately) on surviving.

I was actually talking about Dokes' power.

How about the Michael Dokes who fought Holyfiled vs. the Tyson who fought Holyfield?
