Beterbiev plays right into Toney's hands. Toney loved it when guys brought it to him. Those are the kinda fighters he shines against. Not that Beterbiev wouldn't do his damage, and have his moments, but both at their best I think Toney edges this one in a classic fight. This one might look somewhat similar to Toney/Jirov. Not sure if Toney drops Beterbiev, but he'd land a lot of shots on him before it was all over.

toney at lhw wasnt too convincing was he, losses to drake thadzi and 2x montell griffin, along with some unconvinging fights vs low level opposition. never really had any serious wins. though his depth of d level opponents would impress alpy

bert wins vs lhw james, he'd bring too much heat for that version to keep up with

You're right-Toney wasn't very special at 175 thought I thought he bet Montell both times. Beterbiev could win this on a decision.

I also had Toney over Montell, but the overall impression about Toney at this weight isn't high, so I gotta agree with you. Beterbiev would outwork Toney vastly and outscore him.

Either Beterbiev or Toney would take a decision in a classic light heavyweight match up, but most would stay Beterbiev would win because he accomplished more at light heavyweight than Toney.
