10, 12, 15 or 20 Rounds Heavyweight Bout

If you looked at Dempsey's early career before challenging Jess Willard for the World Heavyweight Title, he was bested by "Fat" Willie Meehan as Dempsey went 1-2-2, but all of their five fights were 4 rounders.

After Dempsey retired Willard to win the World Heavyweight Title, he would defend his title against Meehan in a 15 round or 20 rounder that they never fought in those schedule rounds before. If Meehan try to hit and run in the early rounds, but Dempsey would cut him off the ring and wearing him down with body punches to put him away with a big left hook or right hand in at least from 10 to 15 rounds. What do you guys think and who do you got?

Meehan's one of those interesting figures in boxing where he looked like a doughboy but he was pretty fast on his feet.

Meehan fought a similar fighting opponent in Harry Greb and lost two decisions (six rounds and ten rounds) and I have to figure that in a fight longer than four rounds that Dempsey would begin to turn the tide although it is a fact that Dempsey would take the middle rounds off (ie, Gibbons) to come back hard in the later rounds.

Scheduled for 15 or 20 rounds I will go with Jack Dempsey winning a decision, if not a late knockout because after 1918 the losses started to pile up for Willie Meehan and he was getting stopped by guys like Fred Fulton. If it is scheduled for 10 I may argue that the fight is a draw.
