SKY SPORTS VALUE FOR MONEY?

Now. I don’t watch any sport other than Boxing and MMA. It seems every decent fight is PPV.
I’m going to cancel from the end of the year.
Do you still pay fair the PPVs? I’ve avoided all of the recent ones bar Whyte vs PEDvetkin.

The classic line of every boxrec member
‘Sport wise I only watch boxing.’
15 seconds later you’ll see the same people in the off topic threads about darts, snooker, cricket etc etc.

Sky Sports isn’t value for money unless you also like football, imo.

If you’re paying for Sky purely for boxing/MMA then of course you’re not getting value for money.

Also, I’d say it’s not worth the money unless you happen to have it discounted, it’s a rip-off at full price. I usually take out 3 month deals at £20 per month, then let it lapse until they offer it to me again.

I have all the sports channels
I watch football now and again, if Leeds or Forest are playing.
I don't watch NFL
I don't watch F1
Don't watch darts or snooker.
Don't watch the Racing Channel
Not sure the monthly cost but it's over priced anyway.

I use nowtv pass on the rare occasion there is a bill worth watching that's not PPV. It's quite expensive but cheaper as over the year there are likely only 3 or less Sky Shows which are not PPV and worth watching. I pay PPV for the big shows mostly. Although I will stream on the occasion where I can't justify PPV price.

I don't bother with Sky Sports, most big fights are PPV anyway. I'm not into football or other sports it shows so subscribing a waste of time for me.

SkySports can only be good VFM if you like Premier League Footy. That's it's core business.

I find Sky Sports VFM due to the golf, football and NFL. Boxing and darts additional extras for me.
I stream everything else.

It's less value for me since they lost motogp.
I watch world super bikes, international rugby, snooker and boxing.
The boxing is barely enough, and the PPVs haven't really been worth it except for Fury Wilder 3 which had a decent undercard as well.

Sky sports is usually good for cricket too if you're a fan.
And rugby league.

I watch boxing, rugby league, cricket, darts and NFL on Sky, so I’d say I get my money’s worth…

If you're only interested in one sport then no it's not worth the money, but if you're into a bunch of sports then yes it is.

I'm Yorkshire and never watch cricket. A lot of my friends don't, either. I have a lot of friends into rugby league. Some quite involved. All like boxing on a casual level. It's a myth all Yorkshiremen like cricket.

I worked out one month I’d paid approx 80 quid to spend ten minutes watching boxing. It made absolutely no sense at all.

There is no sporting event on the planet that isnt available via stream in this day and age. With VPN's there is also no reason why you should get in trouble watching illegal streams. Luckily in my country of residence there are no illegalities with regards IPTV suppliers etc.
For 50 notes a year you get everything via IPTV. And I mean everything. Every global football match, Premiership football, Ashes cricket, Boxing PPVs, Santa on his fekkin sleigh journey, Liam Gallagher performing on a barge on the Thames...... simply everything.

NB - The Horse racing channel on 415 isn't part of SkySports pack, it's a different package, as I don't have Sky Sports but have got the Sky Sports Racing. This used to be called At The Races. EuroSport is on the same package I think, I love to watch the Tour De France. There is an additional horse racing channel called RacingUK that is an additional indivdual subscription.
I personally cancelled SkySports several years ago after the boxing fell away as I'm not a big fan of football.
This December I did a 1 month subscription to NowTv access to Sky Sports to watch the darts WC. I'll cancel in Jan at the end of the 30 days. It cost £25. On a side note I did try to watch an NFL game on Christmas day, but it was unwatchable with constant adverts. Shit show considering people pay good money for it, ther adverts were non stop. NowTV is web-based and I watch it via an app on the Samsung smart tv. Bit clunky to load it up.

Talk us all through how you worked out that Sky sports cost you £80? And not your entire sky package.
