Thats very disappointing. So we may see Beterbiev staying safe till Canelo is calling him out. Beterbiev is getting old and he looks more inactive inside the ring being reluctant in throwing punches. Canelo would stop him, easy.

I hope Bivol would fight Zurdo Ramirez in 2022.

Its a really pity that the best fighters at 175 would not face each other.

Bivol's boxing skills would trouble Beterbiev.

Maybe it would be Beterbiev vs Joe Smith Jr but probably not before both would get the Canelo big payday.

Anonymous world champions that don’t generate much revenue rarely cross to the other side of the proverbial street (i.e. ESPN/Top Rank vs. DAZN/Matchroom), especially when there’s every likelihood of receiving a mega Canelo payday within the next twelve months.

Its a unification, 1 vs 2, russia vs russia, KO artist vs technician, in the division with the money man so that brings extra intrest (most likely next year or 2)... if it has no pizzazz its because the promoters havent given it any pizzazz.

I mean i obviously expect both to wait for the canelo pay day, but at least tease us a little.

Canelo is the money fight for both but I’m not really interested in another few years of Beterbiev and Bivol slapping around obviously inferior opponents in “title defenses” when they should be fighting each other. We had the same thing in the late 1990s, early 2000s with Roy Jones and Michalczewski beating up lt. heavy opponents for years but not fighting each other

I’m not saying that’s what they SHOULD do, but I am claiming that’s ACTUALLY what they ARE DOING.

The middleweight and light heavyweight divisions are appalling at the moment.

There are far too many fighters taking easy fights to avoid risking the Canelo payday.

Benavidez, Charlo, Bivol, Andrade, and based on Arum’s recent comments, we might as well include Beterbiev amongst that group too.

I don’t know how you feel about it, but all those fighters pïśś me off, but if you want to continue supporting them, then that’s your prerogative.

It really is a good match up for many reasons.

I get that it probably won't draw a whole lot of money relative to their p4p statuses, when you consider that they're both Russians who haven't build-up really big profiles. But this fight would be a big deal for boxing fans. The winner would be an immensely considerable threat for Alvarez. And the Alvarez - winner fight would be a very important boost for Alvarez's legacy. Pretty much the most important storyline that could play out in boxing right now along with Fury - Usyk and Crawford - Spence.

So the best possible fight between the 2 best guys in the divison has no "PIZZAZZ"? GTFO of here Arum, this is what's wrong with this sport in a nutshell. No governing body looking out for the sport to prevent leeches like Arum blocking the best fights from happening.

Its sad to see that. We know that its a business and every fighter wants to get that big payday asap to secure his financial future but c'mon, boxing fans should open their eyes and stop paying their hard earned money forever for “title defenses” poor fights.

Many people are risking their health and their lives doing their hard jobs for a living but ain't get NO M's and some of them not even H's(100's).

This is what is killing the sport. Beterbiev vs Bivol winner; Benavidez vs Andrade/Charlo winner would be some legit-proven opponents for Canelo.

When cherrypicking goes wrong, then they hurry to cash in. So, cherrypicking going wrong its a good thing for boxing especially when we see fighters protecting their 0 or their trinkets so badly.
